And here come Jerry to muddy things up. Lmao.
With Murray or Peterson they would be one of the best teams in the league, imo. Without them? Not so much. And they better hurry, because the cap train is a'comon.

Who knows what the actual question was too. If Dallas was going to do a trade like that, they would have done it already, I think. But who knows... again this is the Vikings, and with all MN sports teams, if there is a bad thing that could happen, it will.
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
The only way I support that trade is if we get to somehow ream the Cowboys on it and win a SB off that basis.
Herschel Walker still sticks in everybody's craw, I'm sure, and there couldn't be a finer ending to Jerruh's "Will he or won't he?"
3 ring, 10 gallon hat circus than that for me.

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
Screw that, with Adrian on their team that's probably a pick in the #28-#32 range so basically a 2nd rounder. No thanks!

Ripping off the Cowboys for AP would be hilarious, cant even lie.Hunter Morrow wrote:The only way I support that trade is if we get to somehow ream the Cowboys on it and win a SB off that basis.

Too bad its such a QB driven league now. LeSean McCoy got traded away for a ham sandwich without the cheese or mustard, justJordysghost wrote: Ripping off the Cowboys for AP would be hilarious, cant even lie.
2 slices of deli ham between two pieces of Wonderbread. He got traded away for a guy named Kiki Alonso coming off ACL surgery.
A top 10 RB in the league got traded away for Kiki "Who the !@#$ is Kiki Alonso?" Alonso.
We'd be lucky to get a first rounder pick in the top 20 even if Peterson rushes for like, 1500 this season.

Eh. All this would have the potential of doing is re-igniting an media firestorm prefaced around hypotheticals. AP will be with the Vikings this season. They wouldn't take this offer right now because that would leave them with only McKinnon and Asiata. That won't cut it.dead_poet wrote:And it begins again. God damn you Jerry.

Keep this in the back pocket for now and see if it's still a viable scenario after the season though.

Jerry Jones: I'd consider trading our 2016 first-rounder: "Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones told KRLD-FM on Friday that he would consider trading away the team's 2016 first-round pick to acquire a game-changing running back or blue-chip defensive talent".

The AD swap is still on the table, first round pick and La'el Collins, any takers

KIKO Alonso is a very good young LB. If you don't know who he is, that says more about your knowledge of teams outside the division than his playing ability.
I will admit it was a funny post, though.

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
Agreed, Alonso's talent was close to if not on par with Luke Kuechly's (they're the same age). I think many of us would agree to an AP for Kuechly deal if given the oppurtunity.DK Sweets wrote:Ugh. You're making me break my "no posting for the weekend" pact.

At first glance, it's understandable to scratch your head over a name like Shady McCoy traded for a Lb from a small market team, but going overboard with analogies to cover up lack of knowledge of the guy is a big

The Cowboys already got 3 genuine first round talents out of this draft, if AP signed as well then I'd expect them to make the NFC championship game at an absolute minimum.
edit: actually after giving it some more thought I'd take that trade; we're (hopefully) a team on the rise but we're not going to be a championship level team next year with or without AP, so let's trade him and continue to build on our young talent with an extra first rounder and a whole lot of extra cap space.

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
I guess I was wrong. Trading a RB with good hands who had 3700 all purpose yards and 16 touchdowns in his last 2 seasons
for a guy who missed an entire season with a knee injury was a good thing. Kiko Alonso's numbers in 2013 were very, very good,
but come on. Its a perfect example of how nobody really cares about RBs anymore.

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
Yes, that contract Lynch received in Seattle is another perfect example, as were the choices of Gurley and Gordon in the first round of the draft. Nobody cares anymore...Hunter Morrow wrote:I guess I was wrong. Trading a RB with good hands who had 3700 all purpose yards and 16 touchdowns in his last 2 seasons

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated
The Rams took Gurley because their best RB is like 53 years old and the Chargers didn't have a number 1 RB
but already have their QB. The draft just illustrates my point further. A RB hasn't gone number 1 since 1995,
QBs went number 1 13 times in the past 20.
