Zach Line is still under contract, so I would imagine he is the incumbent starter.MusicCityViking wrote:A bit off topic, but who is the starting FB now that Felton is gone?

Yes I read something and it basically said Zach Line will be the starter moving forward...
Maybe a Tribune article..
Taylor Mays does not seem like a great player .. his upside seems familarity with Zimmer's defense

Yeah, Mays has never been a great player, he's a freak athlete who has never lived up to his potential. He would bring versatility in our sub package, and would MAAAAYYYYBBBEEE push Blanton. Maybe.jackal wrote:Yes I read something and it basically said Zach Line will be the starter moving forward...

My source, close to a source, who has a source close to Taylor Mays, reports Mays' dad is close to a source who is familiar with Mike Zimmer's dad, and that individual is aware of conversations that have taken place between a source and Adrian who is confident that Peterson will either be released or traded or retire or remain a Viking or change his name to "source" and move to Indonesia.
Book it, guys.

Mays isn't being pursued to be a starter, he's here for quality depth.

Possible point of interest: the Jets are getting offers for Dee Milliner. I know he's been injury prone, but if they would accept a 4th or possibly a 3rd round pick for him, would anybody take that gamble?
I might think about it on draft day if we don't find a guy we like early on. He could at best be a very solid corner opposite Xavier Rhodes and at worst be an upgrade over Prater. The risk/reward seems to be roughly where I would consider a normal mid-round pick, and he's still quite young.
That said, the Vikings have done fairly well with their mid round picks lately. I can understand why some would view it as a foolish move. I just really think the upside is probably higher than your standard mid round pick unless you see a guy that the team really thinks could be a gem.

I really like Ajayi. He's grown on me the past few weeks. Many scouts and analysts are saying he's the third best RB behind Gordon and Gurley. Yeldon is on the rise as well@TonyPauline: More on Jay Ajayi/RB/Boise St: Had individual/private meetings with San Fransisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings & Jacksonville Jaguars on Wed

I wouldn't, especially not at that price. In addition to the injuries, he's been benched repeatedly (for an UDFA). He's starting to remind me of Morris Claiborne. Despite this he's repeatedly said he's "the best cornerback in the game" and has gotten slammed by not only Rex Ryan but their special teams coach as well. Frankly, he's shown nothing. He'd be getting traded on draft status and name alone. Pass.DK Sweets wrote:Possible point of interest: the Jets are getting offers for Dee Milliner. Oh I still love Coleman but his stock is seeming to drop a bit due to his foot injury and his straight up and down running style. However, neither of those two things make me think any different of him. He's definitely a studfrosted wrote: It's Gurley then Coleman for me.

I would take Gordon over both of them especially with Gurley come off of his surgery. I saw an interview with him last weekend and he seems to be skirting questions about his recovery. He also does not seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

They probably remembered his performance against them in the wildcard game after the 2012 season and decided to sign him.dead_poet wrote:Um.

It sounds like a depth/competition signing to me, although maybe they're interested in him as a returner.
