Hold on. Ryan Mathews hasn't signed his contract yet. Dallas may want him if he gets jaded about Murray signing there. And Murray could be using this as a way to try and get Dallas to pony up a bit more cash.

That does really increase the probability of it doesn't it though?

Imagine if Dallas was expecting Murray back. They may very well give us really good value for AP in order to keep their teams window as open as possible.

Is Fred Smoot still in the league? There is a big name we could sign. I like his skill set too.

Over-paying early for big names, and not so big names, in FA hardly ever pays off. I think that's pretty obvious by now.

@AdamSchefter Recently-released Bucs DE Michael Johnson's first visit will be with the Minnesota Vikings, per source.

Hmm, he'd be an upgrade but not at a desperate need position. We REALLY need a MLB.

FWIW he will be getting 7mil from the Bucs this year so that maybe a way to get him for a little less.

@markcraignfl As "street" free agent, Johnson wouldn't count against #Vikings comp picks equation in '16. That weighs heavily at Winter Park. Rightly so.

@ArifHasanNFL @markcraignfl been a while since the Vikings have been ahead in the comp picks question. Seattle targets cut players for that reason too

I highly doubt it. Zimmer loves his rotations and Robison is still an asset. He also has $2 million due today.

EDIT: my love of compensatory picks and the philosophy that surrounds them aside, I do hope we can work out a deal with Johnson, based on his history in the scheme we run.
