Evil Kinievel, ostrich leather and chicken srtips.....this post had everything. 5*nightowl wrote: It's just appalling silliness. I read that and thought "Good Lord, Evel Knievel would be astounded by that jump (to conclusions)!" It's ridiculous. One thing that hasn't been pointed out in all this meeting goofiness is that AD is not taking his agent with him, that we know of. You would think if he was trying to force a trade or ask for money he'd have the Agent with him.
I don't know what's going on with Wilf's private Jet, Maybe he was getting it detailed or having the Ostrich Leather conditioned? Those are rich people problems. I have regular people problems like, Gas prices went up again and "Dang it! they forgot the Ranch dressing with my Chicken strips"... which did happen tonight. It's not relevant to the conversation but since there isn't any real news on Peterson I felt like sharing.

http://mmqb.si.com/2015/03/11/jameis-wi ... irement/5/Adrian Peterson hasn’t changed his mind about wanting out of Minnesota, I’m told. And if a certain domino falls—Jacksonville or Oakland overpaying DeMarco Murray and pulling him out of Dallas—then Jerry Jones might be willing to deal a good pick for Peterson …

Thanks for the link. However, as far as I'm concerned, it's more noise and I'm waiting for the signal to come through...
Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
Excuse my ignorance, but what options do AD really have as he is under contract for 2015 as long
as the vikes are willing to pay him whatever he gets from his contract?

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
He could sit out, draw this thing out, rack up fines and be a distraction/media story. I don't think that's his style (not when he still has his sights set at the record books and doesn't want to let down his teammates). Plus, he just sat out 15 games. Someone of AD's compeitiveness I can't imagine him voluntarily sitting out even more when he knows his time is running out in the league.Ooki wrote:Excuse my ignorance, but what options do AD really have as he is under contract for 2015 as long as the vikes are willing to pay him whatever he gets from his contract?
If I'm Rick, I stick to my guns what I perceive market value for him is. If I don't get it, he stays and plays.

@GregTKaiser coaches don't want players who don't want to be there and Zimmer has said multiple times they wouldn't force him to stay

Frankly, the whole things is a mess and I doubt it will be resolved soon.Ooki wrote:Excuse my ignorance, but what options do AD really have as he is under contract for 2015 as long

Peterson's options are limited. If he wants out of Minnesota, he can ask to be traded. Beyond that, his option would be to hold out and the Vikes could fine him substantially for that. However, teams try to avoid protracted, tense situations like holdouts, especially when star players are involved, because they can be very disruptive internally and damage the team's reputation in the eyes of other players around the league, including future free agents the team might want to sign at some point down the road.
A lot of people seem to be predicting a trade but even if that's something Peterson and the Vikes want, I doubt it's coming any time soon because of Peterson's situation in regard to the league. His suspension was vacated by a judge's ruling but Goodell's response to that was to place him back on the Commissioner's exempt list. There's no timetable for when Peterson will come off that list. That decision is purely at Goodell's discretion. Meanwhile, the NFL appealed the ruling that lifted the suspension and that appeal might not get to federal court until after the draft, which (to me anyway) makes a trade less likely.
Goodell strikes me as a stubborn commissioner who doesn't appreciate having his authority challenged so who knows when Peterson will be removed from the exempt list?
It's a mess!
Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
Good to hear, I was afraid of him having some sort of "bail-out" clause in his contract. And I totally agree on rick just being rickdead_poet wrote: He could sit out, draw this thing out, rack up fines and be a distraction/media story. and playing hardball if he don't get the right price. For me I would love to have AD back and I think once he is back on the field
a lot of the drama will go away by itself.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
I bet if he were traded to Dallas he would be reinstated fast. Goodell and jones are buds.
Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
My first wish is he changes his mind and wants to stay with the Vikes. My second wish is PLEASE DONT TRADE HIM TO THE 'BOYS!!!!!! He would tear up the NFC behind that line.

That would be so sad and funny at the same time.
