Where's this McKinnon hate coming from? He IS faster and stronger than Harvin, and watching Mckinnon reminds me a lot of Harvin in his running style. And what makes you think he's dumb? He doubled-up AD, Patterson, and your guy, Harvin on the Wunderlic score. He even beat Teddy. Is there any evidence that McKinnon struggled to pick up the offense at all last year? Had he gotten a full year under him he likely would have been a ROY candidate.Demi wrote: Maybe we can make Hernandez a contract offer for the future! And yeah, not our responsibility to judge them, even when they lose an entire season. None of our business. Cost the team we cheer for wins? None of our business. Getting paid to sit at home? None of our business. Give me a break.
And now McKinnon is faster and stronger than Harvin?![]()
McKinnon, AD, and Patterson on the field at the same time? Speed, athleticism, and half the brains of Matt Forte. You would have three guys who can barely block, two that struggle to run routes, two that have had trouble understanding the previous offenses. And Norv's is apparently even more complicated. Didn't we see last year how good being an "athlete" is when you can replace one with a practice squad player from a bottom of the league team and still get results. I'd hate to be Norv trying to get those three to work in the offense.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
If Cardinals strike out in their attempt to sign a FA RB in the first few days of signings, one specific to power running and redzone bruising, I can see a trade happening. AZ came close last year, restructured Larry and Carson, and must feel they are 1-2 players away. Could AP be that player?
Trade AP for a 3rd and a 5th this year and some kind of pick that can improve next year based on his production. Use the additional cap to lock up a couple FA's who will be cut during the coming weeks, the kind Zimmer likes-young'ish vets who were just cap casualties after FA has begun.
Move on Vikes, the AP era should be over. Have 1 more season with Teddy getting his NFL legs under him, and launch into the new stadium with Teddy as new face of franchise along with plenty of young players who should be purple and gold for a long time:
Teddy
Barr
Rhodes
Floyd
Smith
Everson
Kyle
2015 draft picks
And even Kalil and Patterson IF they can revive a career

Exactly what I was saying. That's why I said I have no clue where he comes up with his information because it's either false or makes no sense. I still question if he can be a full time RB that can carry the load but that's just my opinion. I'm really anxious to see how everything plays out with AP, in FA, the draft, etc. I'm sick of waiting!!!!!maembe wrote: Where's this McKinnon hate coming from? I agree. I think trading AP is the best option when it comes to the future of this franchise. However, I do believe we can receive better compensation than a 3rd and a 5th.
Think about it this way.....
--We received a 1st, 3rd, and 7th for Percy Harvin (a guy that couldn't stay healthy, wanted more money than he deserved and was a cry baby)
--We received a 5th and a 7th (moved up 48+ spots in this years draft) for a 6th and Matt Cassel (a 32 year old guy that doesnt even start for us and is owed $4 million)
......Now there is the possibility of trading arguably the best RB in the league away. There isn't a chance Spielman lets him walk for cheap IMO. There is no way that Spielman basically schools Seattle and Buffalo in trades and lets the most dominant player of the decade walk for peanuts. I don't care what position he plays or how old he is. You aren't trading away some average Joe player. You're trading away the best RB in the game that didnt take take hardly any hits last year.
If a trade does happen, don't be surprised if Spielman can somehow wheel a first round pick and others, if worse comes to worse a second and others. Call me crazy but if it goes down, we're going to get good compensation for him. I think we could land a first if we trade with a team like ARZ or IND. Simply because they are picking later in the first so their pick holds less value compared to someone picking early. However, I highly doubt IND trades away another first round pick for a RB. That's another thing that Spielman could use to his advantage though.....Indy gave up a first round pick for a bum RB. AP is far from a bum

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
a 3 and a 5 sounds about right to me. i just can't see a team giving up a high draft pick for at best 2 or 3 years from a player.

49ers have called the Vikings regarding Adrian Peterson. Nothing serious, gauging interest/AP contract demands.

Re: Adrian Peterson (not) Reinstated
Arizona might come calling for Peterson. Honestly, it seems that there is new speculation every day about Peterson's future. I am so jaded. Honestly, I don't even care anymore what happens. I have pretty much made amends with the fact that we have probably have seen the last of Peterson in a Vikings' uniform.

There's no "hate". And I never said he was dumb. I was referring to the other two.maembe wrote: Where's this McKinnon hate coming from?
