Re: Who do we draft?
I think the Vikes have a good shot at drafting the #1 safety this year. Best player available whoever he is would by my choice. I'm not convinced anybody has a secure job on offense. overall our talent level is mediocre except for walsh, Smith, Peterson, Barr. and Griffen. Teddy has potential but We need help everywhere else.

I think Sully, Fusco, Loadholt, Floyd, and Rhodes belong on that list.Laserman wrote:I think the Vikes have a good shot at drafting the #1 safety this year. Re: Who do we draft?
Nice to see the tackle position isnt getting a 1-2 round concern now. That makes a Guard or CB our #2 need. Whether FA, or draft. If we get someone like Collins at CB (who I really like) its going to be a long Rookie year, kind of like we had with Rhodes. Overall, unless theres some talk about a FA WR that no one is talking about, we draft a WR with our first pick. I like the top 3 in this order (please dont kill me) Parker, Cooper, and White. I have been watching a lot more of Parker lately, man can he jump up and fight for the ball. He can spin in mid air like some kind of athletic freak and the balls in his hands. Cooper is most talented atm. But I think Parker beats him out, and White, well, in a few years he may be the best out of all of them.
But some much depends on Peterson. He's still busy blaming the Vikings for all his troubles. We we could just have that whole mess over.

Re: Who do we draft?
I've really attached myself to the idea that we can get a solid guard in free agency and then focus our draft on defense. I would live to have two shutdown CBs, and we need help at LB. I wouldn't be upset if we took a stud S or DE, either. I want to watch a dominant defense, not watch two mediocre sides of the ball.
I'm not trying to insult anybody else's view when I use the word mediocre, by the way. I just feel like when you focus on two things at once they both suffer.

I feel the same and I'd also not mind seeing them get that DB in free agency with the guard.DK Sweets wrote:I've really attached myself to the idea that we can get a solid guard in free agency and then focus our draft on defense. Re: Who do we draft?
And have Theilen as our #1? We have a real honest to goodness QB this year and I dont think AD wants to be here next year, and what AD wants, I bet he gets, ever since he was 2.

Re: Who do we draft?
QB may have moved up a couple of rounds in our draft now. We will probably pickup a fill in veteran backup QB familiar with Norvs offense, but I believe we will set up our QB position for the future. Teddy is our clear #1, but we will need more than 6th or 7th round project now.DK Sweets wrote:I've really attached myself to the idea that we can get a solid guard in free agency and then focus our draft on defense. Re: Who do we draft?
Cp, hmmmm. I vaguely remember him ages ago being talked about as a WR. Now hes not even being talked about as being a KR....yeah, now there a #1 WR. Jennings is a 3rd on any other passing team (and getting #1 pay). With a passing QB and more of a passing offense, why not give him a #1WR target?DK Sweets wrote:...are we cutting Jennings, Wright, Patterson, and Johnson?

1) One year is not ages. He still has time to rebound.PurpleKoolaid wrote: Cp, hmmmm. I vaguely remember him ages ago being talked about as a WR. 2) CP is still a KR threat.
3) Jennings is best in the slot, but that doesn't mean he's a number three guy.
4) Passing QB? As opposed to the kicking QBs?
5) All of this to say: even if you were right about everything, none of that makes Thielen our best WR.

Easy guys. No personal attacks.

I'm not sure this has been posted yet but Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes has a visit scheduled with the Vikings:

Re: Who do we draft?
I wonder if we could get a first round WR., and a second round with Wayne. I would much prefer Waynes over LB, OT, G, DE, S, well, just about anything. Then we go BPA.Mothman wrote:I'm not sure this has been posted yet but Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes has a visit scheduled with the Vikings:
