I'm okay with Teddy digressing as much as he wants to although he doesn't seem all that talkative to me.

@christomasson Adrian Peterson's dad Nelson Peterson said his son remains open to returning to Vikings but some things would need to be done he didn't name
Guessing one of those conditions is no pay cut. Not sure what other conditions he's looking for. He has a generous contract. He's got the support of the coaching staff, front office and teammates. I can't imagine he'd demand Warren get demoted or fired or offer him a direct apology but who knows. It's not like they planned on not having him full time running back, so playing time can't be a condition. Odd.

Edit: his dad went on:
"The Vikings hold that card," the elder Peterson said. "Are they going to pay Adrian the money he is due?"
Per Rotoworld: In other words, the Petersons still aren't tossing any bouquets the Vikings' way. Peterson Sr. also mentioned the Cardinals, Colts and Cowboys as possible landing spots were Peterson to be handed his Minnesota walking papers. Nearly every sign suggests AD has played his final down for the team that made him the No. 7 overall pick of the 2007 draft.

I'm not sure I agree that all signs to him playing his final down with the Vikings are there.

Yeah, I don't see this as a clear sign he's not coming back. A team would have to offer a late first round draft pick or one heck of a package in a trade before free agency, I would assume. Releasing him outright just doesn't seem likely with our cap space.

If we do get something for him, though, I could see us going after a big name in free agency, resigning Harrison Smith to a nice contract, and still having a nice young player coming in through the draft...and still having a nice chunk of money left over. It's not my favorite option, but it's not a bad option.

I don't agree either. that's just dramatic BS.

I'm not terribly interested in what Peterson's father has to either say since he doesn't represent his son in any official capacity. I'll be much more interested in what his son or Ben Dogra have to say, although I'm guessing they won't say much of anything publicly.

The good news is that we're in control. He's under contract so there's no reason to get rid of him unless some team offers a lot in return.

Interesting, isn't it?

The man who taught Adrian Peterson how to discipline a child by thrashing him with a switch now cares deeply about his child's well-being.

Greedy much, Nelson?

Or are you tired of the media hoopla and non-story stories?

Are you pointing that out because you find those two things contradictory or trying to illustrate the depth of cultural disconnect between Peterson and the fan base?

Right. His dad is about as credible as anyone at this point, in my opinion. Just political-like talk.

In the end, Peterson won't be on this team. He'll be dealt by May.

Of course.
@RapSheet In important news, the @NFL is expected to appeal the Adrian Peterson ruling handed down by Judge Doty. Explanation coming online.

We'll see. I don't think it's that clear at all...

Explanation coming as soon as Goodell and his cronies can wipe the egg of their collective faces.

Sheesh, enough already. The NFL made their point, loud and clear. Peterson served a 6 game suspension and hasn't been able to have any contact with the team since the Vikings season ended two months ago. He's reportedly been complying with the various conditions Goodell set out for him. I suppose at this point it's more about "winning" and maintaining the "we can do whatever we want to do, it's all at the commissioner's discretion"precedent they've tried to set. :(

I'll admit this has always been my weak point with law. So right now, until a NEW injunction is filed Peterson and the Vikings can talk?

I imagine it as those old phone commercials, "First minute is free"

People talking as fast as possible about as much as possible.

LOL! I think that's correct.
