It's the date (as of now) that Peterson is first eligible for reinstatement.

Or maybe, Teddy is just excited to do his taxes..

His recent comments, about how his wife doesn't want to stay in Minnesota and how he doesn't trust some in the front office leads me to believe he'll be gone if they try to touch his contract at all.

I think the Vikings are going to have to bite the bullet and pay him $3 million more than any other RB if they want him back.

Do you have a link to those comments?

Yeah, he really goes in:

Kind of makes me shake my head, idk. Maybe he won't be here - sure seems like he doesn't want to be.

Seems like some of his answers were taken out of context but it sure does sound like he's not happy with the way he was treated.

I don't blame him, especially if the reports about Kevin Warren supposedly working with the league to keep him off the field last season were true.

I'm guessing the real bottom line is how he feels his family will be treated in MN and whether or not he feels they can still be happy there. He alluded to that months ago and it's obviously still a concern.

Sigh... the whole situation continues to be depressing.

I don't know .. He's being offered a second chance from the looks of it, and he seems to be pissing on our heads. It kind of ticks me off to be honest. He did a bad thing. There was obviously going to be some backlash. I'm not sure exactly what he expected to happen with the media, we all know they're blood suckers. It just strikes me as odd that he'd paint himself as a victim here.

He's a guy being followed by millions who had images released of abuse he done to his child ... Which city would this have been acceptable to everyone in? This is going to follow him for a while no matter the city. He might as well get used to it or be prepared to step away.

He'll have to retire to get away from the organization that actually treated him unfairly.

The worst part about this is they can't even talk to him while he is suspended. So they can't even attempt to repair any burned bridges.

Peterson does not have much choice if the Vikings want to keep him. He can play or retire. The downside is that they can't do anything about it until he is reinstated.

To be clear I've been predicting (and hoping) that he'd be back in Purple this fall for some time. After these comments I just don't know anymore. I really wanted it for Teddy, it would help so much, but Adrian's attitude just stinks.

The face of the franchise no more, that much has been obvious, but boy is it a kick to the stomach to hear his comments.

I get it - when you're backed into a corner, you can become a dog, fighting tooth and nail for your life.

On the other hand, he's backing Minnesotans into a corner with his comments - fair or not, it makes me feel some kind of way. I'm intensely loyal to my city - Minneapolis is my home. It just rubs me the wrong way with the things he said. He was/is Superman for a lot of people, and I know I, along with many, was willing to give him a 2nd chance, but he's obviously not all about it.

Like he said though, it's a business. I guess I'm delusional to look at it any other way. If he's not back here, then I hope he's in the AFC - can't stand the thought of him tearing it up for another team.

I take solace in the fact that Mike Zimmer is steering this ship now, with Teddy Bridgewater captain of the crew. I hope, beyond all hope, that Ted continues to grow and become our franchise QB, and of course the face of our franchise itself.

I told myself after the last round of crap in this story that I would refrain from caring anymore. Surprisingly, I'm doing a pretty good job today.

I mean, it's a bummer. But I'm not devastated that my favorite player (and someone who could really improve our playoff chances next year) doesn't want to be here. There are too many other things for me to be excited about than to dwell on this.
