I think he needed to get more air under it but I just re-wound RedZone and watched the play again and Patterson reacts before the ball comes down. It almost looked like if he had just kept going he could have run under it, or at least come closer to catching it. I'll be interested in seeing it again and hearing what CP says about it. It's unacceptable to miss that throw but I can't understand why Patterson gave up on it unless, perhaps, he really couldn't see it.S197 wrote: Maybe if he laid out for it but unacceptable to have no one within 15 yards of you and miss the throw.

Then I saw the play on NFL Red Zone and the host was focused on Patterson's frustrated reaction. He seemed to think Patterson was frustrated because he may have lost the ball in the sun. I interpreted it as frustration that the pass was overthrown but now I want to see the play again. Was it a catchable pass that CP lost track of or was it just a bad throw?
It was easily the worst throw of his career based on the time he actually had and how wide open Patterson was. Good QBs don't make a throw that bad. I know it is one play, but that makes me really worried about Teddy's skills because it was horrific. You don't see good QBs missing that badly, ever.

And the contact was right at 5 yds from the LOS. Was 3rd and 6.HardcoreVikesFan wrote:DAMN IT Marcus.

Exactly.
Anyway, now Washington has easily scored...

Pretty weak illegal contact call. You could probably make that on every single play.

Why aren't we more motivated after a win and at home?

Hate that penalty, even if he didn't contact him the ball was thrown out of bounds.

Isn't the rule "past 5 yards"? I have seen way worse than that not called. Idk, Viking WRs never get calls like that.
