He was on a forced vacation... got bored... smoked some weed. Not really the end of the world under normal circumstances, but pretty damned stupid within the context of his existing legal troubles.

Always thought AP was pretty smart. Gonna have to rethink that idea. He's been making pretty bad choices lately

Yeah, I'm in agreeance with most here. I don't see smoking weed as a big deal but given the circumstances it was definitely not a good decision, especially when you should know that drug testing may occur. I've heard some commentators discuss Peterson and I somewhat agree that he really does seem to have issues with judgement and making good decisions. Ideally, the laws should be changed but it isn't the case yet and when you are already in legal trouble it is pretty stupid to do this sort of thing. I just wonder whether he understands the gravity of the situation he is in or if he or others are shielding him/self from the reality of the circumstances.

Maybe it's from being disciplined with a switch as a child...PurpleMustReign wrote:The more I think about this, the more I wonder about his mental health. Something is not right... I can't wait for him to be released from the team so we can move on from all of this!

I don't give a crap anymore. I really don't. I have accepted that AD as a Viking is over. I'll be surprised if he ever plays for the team again. If he does somehow play for them this year, it would take a PR miracle if he was with the team next year. At this point, all I care about is the team getting past this with as little collateral damage as possible. I wish for the best for him and his family, but selfishly, I just want it over.

just cut this clown already. weed or no weed; that is a common sense decision a child can make. if you know you are getting tested and you go out and smoke weed anyway then how can anyone make any type of excuse for a 29 year old that does that? that is called idiocy. a smear campaign? the way he has CHOSEN to live his life he has smeared himself by default. you know what they say; karma truly is a b*tch. i think too many people are clinging onto the 2,000 yd season. well, that was two years ago get over it. personally, i never forgave him for the fumbles against new o'leans. there were plenty of turnovers across the board that night, but fumbling favre's hand off inside the 20 yd line i'll never forget.

After hearing AP speak on several occasions, I didn't think he was the sharpest tool in the shed. But I think the larger issue here is a case of denial where these superstar athletes have gotten away with everything they've done wrong in their life due to their skills on the football field...until now.PurpleMustReign wrote:The more I think about this, the more I wonder about his mental health. I relate this to Mike Vick, I saw a video of him speaking in the 3rd person about how "everybody loves Mike Vick"...this video was during the time he was lying to Goodell about the dog fighting ring. I honestly believe that many of these athletes are heavily protected by agents/managers/handlers until one day an issue to large to be swept under the rug rears its head and BOOM all kinds of things come out of the wood work.

Can't get rid of this fool soon enough. Hopefully people will realize how athletes' get away with things, and the NFL covers it up or looks the other way. And this goes beyond just being weed.
Re: AP arrested for WEED now??? Is this real?
Anyone else get the feeling that Spielman and Zimmer knew something was incoming when they took a 3rd round RB?
