I don't want to overstate one game...but it's so refreshing to see our offense get back on track.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater
I am SO VERY HAPPY that TB had such a good game. I do think he'll make everyone around him better. Starting out like this makes me think we finally got a good, young kid with a brain.
From what they were saying as they were announcing, TB also has had a bit to deal with in his personal life when he was in high school. That kind of stress will either make or break a kid. Let's pray he keeps a good head on his shoulders and doesn't act the fool - keep it on the straight and narrow Teddy!

Ah yes, how quickly we forget. Just last December Cassel threw for 382 yards against Philly.84BreaksAnkles wrote:So is that an official 4th-quarter comeback on his first start?- Since we were down 27-28 early in the fourth?

Ok that's true. But Let's say this back-to-back? Ted's got the opportunity..
I KNOW we haven't had back-to-backs for a WHILE

Re: Teddy Bridgewater
With Teddy injured and having limited mobility, it makes total sense that Ponder is they guy to throw to the wolves in Detroit. Let Ponder start (*GAG***) and hope we get one of those rare good performances out of him where he does NOT panic and throw the ball to a defender all day. If Teddy has a mild/moderate sprain, having a short week is the worst scenario. Why take a chance of going from a short term injury to a season ender? We need to be very logical about how Teddy is introduced to the NFL. We have a lot at stake and rushing things is crazy. Detroit will be after him like a rabid dog.

Aren't we playing GB next though?
I wouldn't mind him going in if he's 95% vs. that D-Line/LB

I'm not worried about it. The Detroit Lions won't lay a hand on the Vikings QB this week, whether it's Ponder or Bridgewater. In fact, even if Ponder startss, I guarantee that he will not throw an interception against Detroit this week!
Sorry, I'm just having a little fun with you. The Vikes play Green Bay this week, not the Lions.

Look at this graph.

The percentage of 300 yard games thrown by Vikings QB's since Favre left. That's either the most pitiful thing I've ever seen (thinking about the last four years) or the most hopeful thing (thinking about the future of this team).

Wow, holy crap I knew we were pathetic in passing yards but that really sums it up.John_Viveiros wrote: Look at this graph.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater
I should have said that I got that from an sbnation article. It really said nothing else about the Vikes. But I don't want to plagiarize: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/9/29/6 ... mith-statspurplehaze wrote: Wow, holy crap I knew we were pathetic in passing yards but that really sums it up.Thanks for posting that. This is extremely encouraging.
Just hope he stays healthy.

Re: Teddy Bridgewater
And just think - Bridgewater missed a wide open Jarius Wright that would have put him closer to 400.John_Viveiros wrote: Look at this graph.

Just can't overstate the importance of a QB who can sense pressure and move just enough to escape while he keeps his eyes downfield. I am truly impressed with how well Bridgewater keeps his composure under pressure. Early in the game it seemed he was content to just dump it off, but as the game progressed he started to feel more comfortable and started to wing it down the field more and he looked fantastic doing it.
One game does not a career make, but I was never worried when Bridgewater dropped back. I'm sure he'll make his fair share of mistakes yet, but he has a calmness and confidence that just seemed to infect the offense. It seemed he was ready to accept the mantle of the starting QB and the rest of the team responded to that.
Hopefully Bridgewater is ready to face the Packers. I really want to see how he handles the bright lights of Thursday night on national TV against a divisional opponent who many expect to win the division again.
