Bridgewater Injury
Any tweets or information on his ankle? I am nervous about it...
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

@christomasson
Mike Zimmer on Bridgewater for Thursday: “I assume he’s going to play. Teddy’s pretty dang tough.’’

Bridgewater admits it will be difficult coming back from injury on short week but said did it in college

Re: Bridgewater Injury
He should be if he was standing on the sidelines watching the end of the game

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater sprained ankle on Sunday against the Falcons in his first career start. X-rays were negative, as Peter King of TheMMQB.com noted during Football Night in America.
Next up, an MRI.
Per a league source, the MRI is being conducted tonight. It’ll give the Vikings a clearer picture as to whether Bridgewater will be available when the Vikings face the Packers in only four nights, on Thursday Night Football.

Standing is a good sign but doesn't mean he can play effectively. I sure hope he will be OK.Laserman wrote:He should be if he was standing on the sidelines watching the end of the game

Re: Bridgewater Injury
If it's a low-grade strain around the ankle, he should be good to go. But high sprains or tears of one of the several ligaments around the ankle can be tricky ... if he has either he'd probably miss at least Thursday's game and maybe 1-2 more starts, because that can become a season-long nagging, performance-affecting injury if he doesn't rest it and let it recover properly.purplereign1 wrote:Standing is a good sign but doesn't mean he can play effectively.

If this the play he suffered the injury (and not the one where he slipped while scrambling on the goal line) this looks like an eversion sprain. Those ankle sprains are very uncommon in athletics. Usually, it is an inversion ankle sprain. If it is indeed an eversion sprain, Teddy may have a sprain of his deltoid ligament. Hard for me to say what the severity of the injury is based on just the video. There could be a few other structures that may have suffered some damage.
What does this mean for his availability? Hard to say exactly. I am sure Eric Sugarman and co will tape him up with a horseshoe pad and work aggressively with him in the training room during the week. He may get a toradol shot in order to play.

He is frail. Skinny elbows, ankles, knees. But he is big in spirit and tough in mind. If he stays smart and plays within himself maybe that will keep him sound. Little Bigwater.Demi wrote:![]()
