Refs didn't do anything wrong. Just a stupid rule. I don't like how they assume 10 seconds will run off. We had a timeout for sh.its sake. How about they ASSUME we would have called a TO?

I don't think it was a designed rollout, but it turned into that.S197 wrote:What a stupid call, run a dive or QB sneak and you can easily use your timeout. Instead you call a slow developing rollout?

NFL is just ridiculous in how they enforce rules. Why should we be penalized for automatic review?

At the very least, the offense should have the option to use a TO and prevent the 10 second runoff. It wasn't a penalty, it was a mistake by the refs. Why does the offense get penalized?yezzir wrote:Refs didn't do anything wrong. Just a stupid rule. I don't like how they assume 10 seconds will run off. We had a timeout for sh.its sake. i'm trying to figure that out too. Why is that rule in place? At the moment, I can't think of a way a team could force a review in the final minute so why the automatic run-off?

Great first half. Teddy was all I thought he would be. No need to set this year and learn
I guess stupid Spielman did a pretty good job drafting TB, Jarius Wright, Assiata, just to name a few. The o-line is doing very good. Maybe, but I doubt it, some of the doubters will chill just a little. Go Vikes

Where did the refs make a mistake? Aren't they just enforcing a rule?soflavike wrote: At the very least, the offense should have the option to use a TO and prevent the 10 second runoff. It wasn't a penalty, it was a mistake by the refs. Why does the offense get penalized?

So if we were to run in a game-winning touchdown with :05 left on the clock and it's overturned, we automatically lose the game because they had to review it? This rule is absolute ####.

That's by the rule book - it's not the ref's fault, but I agree it is a bad rule - since we had a timeout left there shouldn't be a 10 second run off.PurpleKoolaid wrote:And once again the refs screw us.

That's the best idea I've heard yet. If the offense has a TO, give them the option to use it.soflavike wrote: At the very least, the offense should have the option to use a TO and prevent the 10 second runoff. It wasn't a penalty, it was a mistake by the refs. Why does the offense get penalized?
Of course, that would require common sense on the part of the NFL.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.

Cordarrelle Patterson has been very quiet... I guess he's been watching the Jarius Wright show, but it would be nice to get the ball in his hands in the second half.

10-second runoff
The following situations result in a 10-second game clock runoff if the team in possession of the ball is trailing or the game is tied and the team in possession of the ball has no timeouts remaining in that half. If there are less than 11 seconds left in the half or game, the half or game is ended by such runoff.

Re: Falcons @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 4
It never should have been a pass call to begin with. Has Atlanta gotten a single stop for loss yet? Their defense is getting gashed and all of a sudden the offense can't move a half yard in two plays?soflavike wrote: I don't think it was a designed rollout, but it turned into that.
Atlanta called a zone on that play, basically giving up on the run because quite frankly they can't stop it so may as well play the pass on the off chance it gets called. Norv got straight up beat on that call.
