He won't have an NFL future if he can't face the facts that what he did is not considered appropriate in the society he lives in. Regardless of his intent, which I'm inclined to believe his sentiment there.
If he can accept that it's time to break that cycle and he can chose to become a proponent for being a public face for that change, why shouldn't he get a second chance after serving whatever punishment is handed down?
I imagine that a large part of his self-defense reaction is linked to how vilified he has been in the public eye. He's reached monster status in record time in many circles. I think he's fairly confused and lacks significant depth....it's eerily similar to his running style IMO.
I just hope it all works out for a positive change down the road.

Re: Peterson not in Vikings future
I think this is the issue. I don't think he will be convicted if it goes to trial (although I expect some quick plea deal the most likely outcome), but even if legally exonerated his actions will continue to be controversial and probably unacceptable to a Minnesota fan base. I suspect if they can get anything for him they will take the cap space and a draft pick over a 30 year old premier RB. He might yet wind up on the Cowboys!chicagopurple wrote:AP is just a CLueless MORON....He tweeted Sunday how he is asking to take a Polygraph! So he can once again admit to "Whupping" his little boy....and really didnt mean to tear the kid up. He just doesnt get it. What a fiasco. He must drive his Lawyer crazy with his inability to simply shut the Hell up!
If we see him again in purple it will be this season after the trade deadline and after a suspension, but I think its unlikely. He won't be a Viking next season IMO.

Re: Peterson not in Vikings future
Hopefully he has some trade value down the road but I doubt it. I don't see anyone giving anything for him under all these circumstances.
No way he plays this year. Next year he's a year older, and probabley will start the season suspended by the NFL, if he isn't in jail.
Vikings just need to play it like they would have, had he shredded his knee and his career is over. Move on, don't look back, and look to the future.
Sucks but AP put himself in this mess.
