He didn't drop Brees on his head. Brees got stood up (no whistle) and then flipped on his back. How else should he have brought him to the ground?liquid_mojo wrote: Agreed, when you flip a QB over onto their neck/head it's going to get a call everytime. And just because I understand why the call was made doesn't mean I like it or agree that it's how games should be called.

Watch the replay - he definitely lifts Brees up off his feet and then throws him down - he didn't 'just pull him down'. Refs are gonna call that every time - no matter who the qb is.me4get wrote: he pulled him down there was no slam.

+1. If you want to go strict by the rules, why wasn't Brees flagged? You can't have it both ways. If you want to be mr rulebook here, call a penalty on Brees too.me4get wrote: Landed on his back.

Nice run play.

That is not an illegal tackle... Every tackle results in feet off the ground.Purple Reign wrote:Watch the replay - he definitely lifts Brees up off his feet and then throws him down - he didn't 'just pull him down'. Refs are gonna call that every time - no matter who the qb is.

The whistle wasn't blown, Brees was trying to get away, Captain stopped that. Because a player put up a better fight, he's penaltilzed? All of Captains force didn't go into Brees, hell Bress fell away from Captain. Sucks this call determines the game so it's all there is to discuss.

Put a pink dress on each QB and bring back in the grasp.TeddyB wrote:The whistle wasn't blown, Brees was trying to get away, Captain stopped that. I guess you can argue all you want, it was a body slam IMO and the only person who really counts - the refs - also think so.soflavike wrote: That is not an illegal tackle... Every tackle results in feet off the ground.

Have you been watching football the past few seasons? Understand I don't like the call, but i'm not clueless to how the game is called now days.Crax wrote: +1. You expect a flag on Brees for pelvis thrusting a dude? It was a weak #### comeback from Brees and a QB won't ever draw that kind of a call, again...I have adapted my expectations for how calls will be made on prior precedents.
