Do you mean the linebacker that the Ravens had for 17 years that committed a double homicide?

I'd say there's a pretty good correlation between, number of years being a Vikings fan, and willingness to boast or over hype the team.

As a fan since around '71/'72, I have learned my lesson often of getting over confident early in the season.
that said, this team looks different but I'm almost afraid so say so. Call me gun shy.
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps.

+1

I have been following this team since 1971 as well...as such I've seen a lot of highs and recently a lot of lows. The win last week was nice but we were playing a team with very little talent and until we do....we wont know how good or bad this team is. The next 4 weeks will be extremely telling and if we can be 4-1 or 3-2 at the end of week 5....I would be very excited.

Either everyone isstunned by our excellent performance and an obvious HUGE improvement in being coached up for a game......or Viking fans have finally been fatigued by chronic failures......I hope its the former and everyone is just hung over on victory beers. :smilevike:

maybe this is just what it looks like when your team flat out dominates and there is no controversy to argue about
I think most, and I am in that group, want to see this team against a more legit team. The Rams are a decent defense, and a well coached bunch with Fisher, but the offense wasn't much. I know this program is headed upward, but is it headed there right out of the gate? We will know more in the coming 3 games.

I think a lot of people are waiting to see how we fair against NE, Saints, and the Packers, in the first month and a half of the season.

If we come out with a good record in the first seven games, I would say it catches fire..

The Vikings have pulled the carpet so many times, its hard for us children to run across the rug, one more time...

I think if we have a winning record for the first half of the season, we're a lock for the playoffs (notwithstanding devastating injuries late). I still think we can make the playoffs even if we don't fare well at the beginning, though.
