How about Turner's quote about Ponder: "I think he has done everything he can do." ?

I take that to mean that what Ponder has done so far is what he thinks Ponder is capable of doing, in other words if he has done everything he can do than there must not be any room for improvement. I'm not sure if that's what he really meant, but that's what it sounds like to me. If that's the case, why does Turner still talk up Ponder?

HOLY smokes, DP, what a change from the giraffe. You said you'd change it when you felt differently about the team. I guess that's happened?

A) I have a bit of optimism going into the season
B) I just found this really cool picture of Robocop in Vikings colors and helmet and figured it was about 43% cooler than a giraffe chewing

Vikings QB Christian Ponder on fans booing him: 'I hear it. Everyone hears it.'
Christian Ponder never heard boos when he played in high school in Texas. He claims he didn't hear any at Florida State, either.

"It hasn't happened before, until I got here," the Vikings' quarterback said Wednesday.

Ponder was booed at times when he struggled in games last season, his third in the NFL. Then, during the Vikings' preseason opener Aug. 8 against Oakland, he was razzed by home fans at TCF Bank Stadium.

That prompted offensive coordinator Norv Turner to express his disappointment Tuesday in how fans have treated Ponder, who has dropped to third-string after being Minnesota's primary starter the past three years.
More at the link. I liked this:
"I agree with Norv," wide receiver Greg Jennings said. "He's a part of our team. He's a part of this organization. He's been part of this organization for the last four years, so, if you boo one of us, you boo all of us. We're a team."

LOL! That's right and the article makes it sound like Cassel might get in there too.

Seriously, it's nice to see Ponder's coaches and teammates showing support for him this week. I realize he's been a disappointment to Vikings fans but I think he's handled himself in a classy, professional way as a Viking.

I couldn't agree more. I love seeing the unity between the players. The teams that bond the most seem to be the teams that perform the best every single year.

The classic chicken/egg question. Does bonding cause the team to perform better, or is it that performing better (winning) causes the team to bond better? I think it is the latter. Speaking from experience (no, not NFL experience, just team sports in general), it's much easier to bond with your teammates if the team is winning.

sam bradford tore his ACL again, I'd take a 5th for Ponder.

Yeah... and I'd take $50 for my lucky gym sock, but sometimes the asking price exceeds the value of what is being offered...

Actually, Ponder might be worth a fifth to a team in the Rams situation. If I were their GM, I'd certainly consider that price. Ponder is still a young QB, entering just his 4th season, and he's had some success. With a change of scenery and good coaching, he might surprise.

Ponder should really be looking at this week's game as a big opportunity. I'm assuming he'll play and if he plays well, and reminds the Rams that he can be a good QB when he plays smart, the Vikes just might get a call from St. Louis...

Ponder's guaranteed contract doesn't help his trade value.

Would be poetic if the Rams gave Washington a nice package of picks for Kirk Cousins given what Washington gave the Rams to move up and take RGIII.

Depends on how lucky your sock really is.

I think he would surprise a lot of people. I think the coaching staff on the Vikings the last few years did him no favors. Had he been under Turner the last three years I think we would be seeing a different player. But that's just me.
