He was a professional coming to work but the NFL is no normal job. Have you listened to the way our new coach talks to some of his players? In what professional setting, other than sports, is that acceptable? There certainly aren't many.

Is screaming curse words at someone less or more an acceptable "professional" act? Seems like something of a double standard to me if you're going to judge Moss based on "normal professionalism". The NFL very obviously isn't the same world.

No, it's not the same world but I think the comparison you made above is a bit of an "apples and oranges' comparison. No matter how slice it, what Moss did was poor sportsmanship. It was completely and utterly disrespectful to the opposing team and it's fans. Whether they deserved it or not, I think it was the wrong thing to do.

If Randy had actually mooned them, I would agree with you. Randy was just having some fun with the GB fans that moon the departing teams when they leave Lameblow. Buck, not knowing the circumstances, blew it way out of proportion.
Anyway. To me the best win ever was the Monday Nighter against GB, Randys rookie year. I have never been so satisfied with a win as that game.

The Moss fake BA was an absolute abomination and affront to my senses as a Viking fan. I stayed in my house for days after and hung my head, oh the shame. Im a bit of a puritan and very prudish so that sort of thing doesnt play well with me. Joe Buck was my hero for putting that callus brute in his place. Who cares about the circumstances? Players flip off the opposing teams bus all the time, would it be acceptable for a player to score and then flip off the opposing fans? Buck hit it right on the money, it was a disgusting act by Randy, and I'm almost never a prude about celebrations, but such a blatant insult to the opposing teams fans are over the line. Great game, poor choice by Randy. And it only helped increase his image of being an ignorant little punk.

what moss did against green bay was one of the greatest things not only in vikings history, but nfl history as well. have a freaking sense of humor it was the most genius td celebration ever. to answer the original question, i wasn't alive for the nfc championship wins, so my favorite game was the 98 monday night in lambeau, or when favre returned to lambeau. i also give honorable mention to the 97 playoff game against the giants. that was a period in which replay wasn't used, do people remember jake reed's foot actually being out of bounds on that td catch?

Again, boohoo. They are FANS, I've seen fans do stupid #### every single game I've ever attended. Dont even get me started on attending a game in Chicago, but who cares? They are fans! I'm not ripping anyone ... but Randy Moss could have used some guidance. I agree partially with you Randy Moss was probably the most gifted wide out ever!
The thing made Jerry Rice what he was his work ethic.. He outworked everyone else. That I respect very very much, as i am a hard worker too. I know a lot
of number one wide outs seem to be ego maniacs ... Owens Chad Johnson, Dez Bryant, and many others, seem to have extreme confidence. I wish people
would rain in some of these kids; instead of giving them everything, they wished for .... much to early in life. Self discipline and respect for others and the games

Very nice post. Though I disagree about Moss being a better route runner than Jerry Rice. But had it not been of Moss, I probably would have never been a fan of this team in the first place. During the Moss era, the Vikings were pretty respected back then around the NFL oppose to how they are now.
