Even though he sucked the second time he "left" that really bothered you :?

Zimmerman, still in his prime and Page, over the hill but I still hated that they left.

Just Me wrote: I'd agree and I'd add Moss (the first departure - for some reason, the second one wasn't as bad). With CC it was almost like his talent left after the Vikings (sort of). I remember him dropping more passes as Dolphin than I ever remember him dropping as a Viking. Hated to see that happen to him, but it lessened the 'sting' of him leaving a little bit.
It's almost like his heart just wasn't in it in Miami.

I was ready to see Moss go so when he was traded, it didn't bother me.

Graduel Christopher Darin Carter wasn't very good in Miami because Mike Tice never said, "All he does is catch TD's" when he left haha. You see he lacked the proper motivation xD.

I hated seeing AC in a Lions uniform, that was rough. Also didn't like seeing Browner cut.....where did he end up? Tampa?

Winfield. The way it was handled still breaks my heart.

I would have preferred getting rid of Moss earlier than we did instead of dismantling that offensive line we had in 98 in order to pay Moss so much money. football games are won in the trenches, always have & always will. That Line could have been the next Dallas wall. Wonder what Robert smith could have done running behind that line for 5-8 years? the NFL can go pass happy all it wants in order to please fans and sell tickets but only one team wins the crown every year and it's usually the team with the best Offensive line. I wish we would build that next killer offensive line

Moss, Winfield, and honestly Chester Taylor. I loved the way that dude played.

He did not suck the second time he left. Half of the time he was doubled team, which actually gave Peterson some breathing room. Plus do you know how hard it is to just jump from one team to another team after the season has started. He came in game 5, without no prior knowledge of a Vikings playbook since 2004 and he still did what he was suppose to do. Which was take some pressure off Peterson. I didn't expect him to play like he did in 1998 but we all know that his play wasn't the reason we let him go either.

Brad Johnson - seriously. I thought he was a far better QB for winning (not stats) than Cunningham. I think the Vikes would have won a Superbowl with Brad, with the rest of the talent around him.

Yeah, tough to beat that one :(. He was good, likable, and it was tragic.

For me, it was Joey Browner, who was by far my favorite player when I started watching. His super human strength nearly had me convinced he was part cyborg. It was tough to see him in the dreadful Tampa Bay creamsicles after he left. It was as shameful as putting Baby in the corner, nobody puts Browner in creamsicle. I hated to see Brian Billick leave too. Man our offense was never the same without him.

The thing I like about Browner was that if he got his hands on you, you were going down. None of this bouncing of ball carriers stuff. One of the surest tacklers I've ever seen.

Moss. He's honestly one of the only Vikings I can remember of pro bowl/all pro caliber who left when he was still in his prime. I remember thinking that it was a dumb trade then. Ending up with Troy Williamson was the icing on cake for that deal, though Moss was not very effective in Oakland by any stretch of the word.
