I don't think she will leave him. I don't think him being a starting QB played a role in their marriage. Even if he fails as a QB she can probably find him a job being a sports reporter like her. Plus despite Ponder not being that good on the field, he is a great person off the field. He still has a college degree, he is smart, so he will still find a good career else if football doesn't work. I hope she stays with him though. I hate when some women dump when once pro athlete husband once he hits rock bottom in his sports career.

This sounds like a soap opera  Ponder has made 12 million dollars so far, very intelligent (got his degree in three years), keeps himself in shape, the ladies love him and his "ugly" wife is going to leave him.

I think his wife is ugly (actually, I think blonde hair is ugly on anyone - reminds me of Nazis Germany when they wanted everyone to have blonde hair and blue eyes).

Lol. The irony.

I am not sure how anyone (male/female) could dismiss Samantha Ponder as being 'ugly.' Sure, she may not be anyone's cup of tea, but damn, if she is ugly, then I don't even want to know what it requires to label someone as beautiful.

Anyway, back on track. Ponder isn't going to be our starter this year unless injuries occur to Matt and Teddy. I have been skeptical of this 'open' competition since it was announced. If anything, it is an attempt to sucker some dumb team into trading a pick for Ponder. Honestly, I don't see any team in the NFL doing that.

Just hope he can clean up his act. He old enough to behave like an adult now.
Heck yeah, I love Jerome. I love his celebration even more.

I agree that he needs to straighten up, or he might have to find the door, and then I'll have to find a tissue. :D

Not trying to instigate anything but that was cold..lol I naturally think it's a woman thing. No matter how attractive a woman may look to most men there will always be women who will try to find a flaw in their appearance.

"All three Vikings quarterbacks got an opportunity to run with the first group, and Christian Ponder’s best moment of the day came during one of those reps. He diagnosed the defensive look pre-snap and adjusted his protection before taking a snap from the gun formation. After taking the snap, Ponder manipulated the safeties and identified single coverage on Simpson. Seeing an opportunity to let Simpson make a play, Ponder lofted a perfectly-placed pass in a spot over the top of the cornerback and underneath the safety, allowing Simpson to make a leaping catch for what would’ve been a 30-yard completion down the right sideline."

The point was to show your insult was unnecessary and, well, just plain bad. If you're going to do it, do it right.

Lol since when is pointing out the obvious an insult? She calls attractive girls ugly, I call unattractive girls ugly, seems like a wash to me.

I guess I'll take your word for it that I did it "bad". Whatever you may mean by that.

Just throwing that out there. Even though I do agree that Mrs. Ponder is nowhere near ugly. Everybody is still entitled to their own opinion. To call some one "ugly" on the board because you may not find them attractive may not sit too well with the mods. Don't wanna see anyone get in trouble...lol

I'm glad you threw that out there. This thread has gone completely off the rails.

Ponder quotes,
"It's not awkward -- I understand what's going on," Ponder said. "I had some opportunities that I didn't take full advantage of. If I would have played better, I wouldn't be in the situation here right now. We'll see how it plays out -- football's a crazy game."
"(Bridgewater) is good," Ponder added. "He's got a great arm, and he's very accurate. He spins the ball really well. He's picking up things pretty quickly. I like him a lot."
I will give Ponder some credit he owns the failure a little. He also confirms what most experts are saying Bridge Water will be starting at some point; time will
tell how long that really is.
