All the while people who get paid to scout and analyze football professionally compare Teddy more to: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-pro-compa ... ridgewater

Hint: it's Aaron Rodgers.
He ain't Aaron Rodgers either.

Comparisons are worthless.

No need to apologize. You were right on the money.
It's unfortunate, but black quarterbacks are always compared to other black quarterbacks who they have nothing in common with other than skin color.

 I really do hate that helmet he chose though. It's looks funny on his head. I thought he would choose those revolution helmets like the one Ponder has. Then again that's probably the only one that really fits his head. I know Aaron Rodgers wear that same kind of helmet to. I think Joe Webb wears that one too as well.

the point is that his skill set is far more similar to Rodgers than TJack.

I'm surprised to see so many people criticizing/downplaying this move. Ignore the pro day and go back and watch some Louisville games. Just a few months ago the majority of Vikings fans were on the "Tank for Teddy" bandwagon. I watched him play a lot in college and I haven't been this excited about a Vikings draft pick in a long time. Can't wait to see him on the field once training camp begins.

Lots of people were saying, "Tank for Teddy"; but actually, he ended up tanking for us...thus already showing himself to be a real team player! :)

I love the pick.

Buuut. There have been a number of QBs that went later than expected. That had similar discussions about them. And bombed in the NFL.

What scares me a little, is some other QBs who were top 5 projected picks, went back for another season, and suddenly teams were down on them. Did they just get that much worse, or did they see something?

It's a crap shoot. But at least we're continuing to swing. As long as Spielman isn't on his silly 30+ starts before you can figure anything out trip. We need to get another QB in here, on the practice squad. We should have some idea what we have by the end of this season, and if he plays some this year, or next, we should have a good idea by then. No more giving guys snaps just because we can hopefully. Zimmer won't put up with it. Even if Spielman tries to manipulate him like he did with Frazier!

I watched this guy enough to know he will see the open Kyle's, Jennings, and Simpsons enough, and throw to them before he runs. Ponder just saw Simpson was covered, and that was that. He made a bee-line right into the arms of the closest LB.

Sid's accurate call on the Barr pick has me lending new credence to his takes (even if he's still a bit of a codger). Nothing too surprising here:
Talking to the coaches, they don’t expect Bridgewater to be ready to start this season and say that Cassell and Ponder should battle it out for the No.1 spot, but they are all extremely excited about the young quarterback’s potential.
