Our track record with QBs doesn't leave me confident. But I like Teddy and think he's pretty darn valuable to get him where he did. I would've been happier with Manziel, but Bridgewater was my #2. I hope he turns out to be another Rick Special (Patterson, Smith trade back into the end of the first). I have my reservation about him and I'm nervous about not having a second-round pick. If he doesn't pan out I...I...I just don't know what I'll do.

How the tides turns......5 months ago this site was swamped with people talking about tanking for teddy because he was the unanimous choice as the #1 overall pick. We get him at 32 and people on the board are still ready to boo at the pick. IDK what it takes to make everyone else happy but I think this is a good move because I have to believe that Houston was going to take him with the 1st pick in round 2 if we didn't move up. just my opinion

I honestly don't mind it either. I don't look at it as we lost 2 picks, we really only gave up one pick to move up 8 spots.

Sounds like the Vikings had a lot of talks with him. He mentioned the GM, OC, and QB coach by name in his interview with Sanders. I think the Vikings did rather well tonight.

@AlbertBreer 15m
Teddy Bridgewater was the No. 2 quarterback on Minnesota's board, and it was close between he and Johnny Manziel. Vikes are happy.

I'm sure they had extensive talks with all three of their top QB prospects.

Just curious....what would be your "dream" draft?? Because it seems like you're being pretty negative regarding any pick we have and have little justification behind it.

That's true. Kudos to him for not taking the chance on not letting Teddy walk away from us, after getting the LB they wanted. Maybe Barr will turn out to be better then Mosley. Gotta say Zimmer knows a lot more about it then I do.

Understandable but the Vikes haven't invested a first (or even a second) round pick in a QB very often and Turner has a good history of working with QBs. That bodes well.
But I like Teddy and think he's pretty darn valuable to get him where he did. I would've been happier with Manziel, but Bridgewater was my #2. LOL! You'll just keep on hopin' like we all do.

Well, good night, all... I have to get up really early tomorrow but I stayed up because I had a feeling the Vikes would trade back into the first. I'm glad they rewarded that feeling...

Thanks Jim. I was really, really, really hoping we were going to trade up for him. My friends and I are all skyping watching the draft. I bout blow out the speakers on the computer when we traded up - i knew it was for Teddy.

Spielman said Bridgewater private workout was "totally different" than Pro Day. Thought Pro Day issues were easily correctable. #Vikings

Spielman: Vikings had private workout with Bridgewater in Florida. "Totally different" than pro day. "This guy is what we saw on tape."
