Mett seemed like the best fit before the whole back injury/drug stuff but maybe that's just smoke. Sua-Filo like you mention would be a gift if he dropped but we got a long way to go. Buchannon or Ward are both possibilities, maybe a Jean-Baptise. Verrett and Dennard still on the board too but probably not for long.

This Manziel situation reminds me of Geno Smith last year. Everyone thought he was going to be the top QB off the board too.

I've seen him taken by the Cardinals in a few mocks that projected his fall.

I'd muuuch rather have the #1 QB prospect on our board than the #5 or later.

We are not taking Manziel anywhere. It would be a foolish gamble for a GM who can't afford any foolish gambles. And he isn't exactly a Zimmer kind of guy. And Zimmer said he had issues. Of course people thought that was a smokescreen. Absolutely nothing points toward us taking Manziel except the hopes of people who ignore all of the above.

Looks like it was only a 3rd. Pretty good to move up 7 spots in round 1.

He's as close to elite as you can get without being elite. It's understandable. Especially with the alternative being the QB position of teams like...us!
I agree 100% Demi. Everyone is hating on this pick which makes ZERO sense. Guys on here are acting like they know what Barr can and can't do and that he isn't a 3 down LB. Sorry but I take Mike Zimmer's word that he IS a 3 down LB compared to some guy on a message board. Barr is athletic enough to cover, and physical enough to rush the passer. Mosely is a 1 trick pony, Barr can play LB and rush the passer. You get more out of Barr than you do Mosely

Love Barr and so glad we got him, DeMarcus Ware Ceiling. Wonder if we trade back in the 1st for a QB?

Damn I forgot Cleveland was at 26. That may be the Manziel pick.

Keep drinking the Koolaid. Its Barr who is the one trick pony. Watch the film. Mosley is fast, plays the run like a beast, has good coverage skills. And even more importantly, he was a leader on one of the best college teams in the country. Hey, pick is over, and we will see in a few years, but for you to think that Mosely is a one trick pony, then your obviously not as informed as you claim to be.
