Whoa.
While women have played kicker in pro football, Jennifer Welter has broken new ground by becoming the first female running back on a men's team.

Whoa is right. That's pretty cool. It really cracks me up how tiny she is compared to her teammates.

My God, she looks like someone I would NOT want to piss off.

I've always wondered when professional sports (the 4 majors) will have women players. There are great players in the WNBA and I'm surprised it's never happened.

Eventually, maybe. It could easily be decades away from happening, though. Some 5'2" 130lb woman playing on a 4th tier arena league football team doesn't mean much.

I see the NBA as maybe the last major league in which it will happen. There are just too few jobs available, too high of a skill requirement, and it's become too physical of a game.
