Incognito is horribly toxic, as a human being and now as a situation.

You really think everyone is equal. And that life is fair.

PROTIP: They're not. And it's not.

Some people are smarter than others. Some are stronger. Some faster. Some meaner. The fact that people have gotten so soft that they can't deal with it is saddening.

They harassed JM to try and get him angry. To try and get him to perform at an even higher level. They didn't do it for fun. They play in the most competitive, physical team sport in the world today. A guy like Incognito knows there is no room for weakness, and he wants to weed it out, to knock it out of the people he plays with and has to depend on. He's an old school player who is using old school techniques to do this.

I guess the 'softies' who populate America today really don't get it. They can't even comprehend it. Go watch Gran Torino or something. The politically correct circlejerk that is the NFL/American people today will never understand.

:appl: :appl: :appl: Thank God somebody has said it. People don't believe in tough love anymore. You gotta pamper them and burp them like a baby and anything more is seen as bullying. Think of Mean Joe Greene. That guy was a tough as they come, even though he had some violent tendencies, his temper is why the Steelers were so dangerous on D back then. Back then if you late hit a QB you'd probably get punched in the face by one of his linemen. Suh, is like a softer version of Joe Greene but everyone complains how he "plays too dirty." Football is a dirty sport. It's always been like that. What you see on TV is just a front for the public. Off-Camera is where the dirtiness happens. You have to be tough physically and mentally to survive. You earn your respect by the way you play, not by crying out to the public that someone is harassing me.

With that being said, I'm not taking up for Incognito. I was just speaking for the NFL in general. I don't know much about him nor do I have interest to find out all about the incident. I'm neutral on the whole thing honestly. If he gets cut oh well, if he stays so what. I'm just a fan. What can I do? Complaining about it won't change anything.

Sorry, I have read the report. And I don't think much of it if any was to get him to perform better. Sound like a cop out to me. "We did it because we wanted to make him mad so he would play better." Biggest line of BS I have ever heard. What was said to him and when it was said to him had nothing to do with playing better football. And any GM that considers bringing Incognito into his locker room should read the report before he does. If that "playing better football" was the incentive, then what was the incentive for doing it to the Assistant trainer? Make him a better trainer?

I what I can't comprehend is the fact that some people think it's OK to make comments like the ones the 3 players said to Martin and pass it off as "trying to toughen him up." and make him a better player. How a comment about what they were going to do to his sister sex wise has nothing to do with football. And anyone who thinks otherwise is living a pipe dream. It was pure bullying tactics. And if you claim it was not, please explain why they were doing it to the assistant trainer. Justify that. Please.

Oh, I'm all for people "toughening up", but neither of these two are good examples of what tough is.

Both have major insecurities and weaknesses; one just likes to take those things out on people just a bit weaker. That's tough? Not a chance.

I think Incognito needs to work a bit more at being "Incognito" . He flies to close to the radar, guess he likes trouble. I don't care how good he is, He's trouble

Bullying, insults, and all the various bulls#!& that occurred in Miami has nothing to do with tough, and everything to do with being a manipulative ####. When drill instructors demean and insult recruits, it is done to break the recruit down emotionally in order to rebuild them as a soldier. What Incognito and other jerks like him do is psychological torture. That anyone would find anything he did defensible is appalling. The more I read about Incognito, the more I am convinced he is a sociopath and needs treatment.

I played Rugby all through college. No, this isn't going to be derailed into a "which is tougher" thread. But I don't think anyone would argue that Rugby is for softies. Rugby is all about being tough. Our team was damn good but since our team was also small, we barely had 3 subs on a good day, you pretty much didn't leave the field unless a body part stopped functioning the way it was suppose to and only if it was a necessary part. Talking "####" was part of the culture of toughening someone up and bonding. So was going out for beers afterwards and chatting like friends. This dude was a goon and the fact that it was tolerated speaks volumes to the quality of the Miami Dolphins.      :| :? I believe thats the closest I can get with emotes. Anyone who thinks that this is acceptable is so out of touch with team culture its laughable. That is not how you toughen someone up. That's how you tear someone down completely.

I also completely fail to see you respond to the great point that you apparently believe sexually harassing females with golf clubs and talking about buying guns to shoot black people at team practices is solid team building.

This thread is stupid but not as stupid as decrying the "pussifying" of America. I know this board is all about opinions and being respectful. But this is getting to the point were some people are nearly to the point of openly supporting misogyny and racial bigotry. People need to go read what is PROVEN he said and did before they leap to defend him.

Are we just completely throwing out the texts that JM sent back then? This was not a completely one sided text line with several obscene texts sent both ways!

From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

Bottom line is that Incognito is not an elite player. He is not worth the investment. There are other fish in the ocean. He is getting far more attention for being a #### then his talent level deserves. he might MIGHT be a miniscule upgrade from some of our current guys, but is he worth it...NO. Lets hope our scouts/GM are competent enough to find guys who make Incognito > Inconsequential....

Yeah we are cause as far as the facts are concerned JM never once initiated it. Period. Bash JM for not handling the bully properly but jeez. I haven't heard the "Well he pushed back!" argument since about 5th grade.
