@caplannfl: While he hasn't been scheduled for a 2nd interview, word is that #49ers DL coach Jim Tomsula interviewed well for the #Vikings HC job.

@GoesslingESPN
No movement in front of #Vikings offices yet. Zimmer still in the building.

Definitely wouldn't be opposed to that. He would probably want to run a 3-4 .. Not preferred defense of Zimmer if we hire him, but maybe we could roll out some hybrid looks. Exciting stuff.

via Rotoworld:
The Browns are allowing in limbo DC Ray Horton to interview for "any available coaching positions," including lateral moves.
Our new DC? I would love that!

I think 49ers ran a 4-3 before Harbaugh was there. Tomsula seems to be adored by his players

@GoesslingESPN: Pulling up stakes from Winter Park for the night. Bowles still doesn't have anything scheduled with #Vikings. We'll see if that changes.

@GoesslingESPN: If #Vikings bring Bowles in, would think that means they've said no on Zimmer. Feeling out there is, they'll take candidates one at a time.
Hmmm...not a fan of Bowles. If not Zimmer I am hoping for Roman or Tomsula.

I realize it's not you making the assertion, but why does Goessling automatically conclude that a second interview from another candidate excludes hiring Zimmer. I thought a major purpose of interviews was to compare and contrast the candidates? :confused:

Yeah, seems like pure conjecture on his part.

I am still in the "Zimmer Camp", so to speak, but could definitely see the merit of hiring Roman/Tomsula. That possibility intrigues me also.

FFS!!! Hire Zimmer and be done with it. I want PROVEN candidates - not recent success flukes.

Roman is out there yet right? With Roman we wouldn't have Linahan. But Im still hoping for Zimmer.

I'm starting to think that if the Zimmer hire hasn't happened yet, then it's not going to happen.

#Vikings officials hope to meet tonight to discuss their feelings on Zimmer. Hopefully can make a decision and inform Zimmer tomorrow.
