Former Minn mayor candidate trying to stop stadium bond sale
Talk about last second #### baggery. The bond sale was set to begin tomorrow and work has already begun. But the brief filed with the state supreme court has forced the halt of the sale -

Re: Former Minn mayor candidate trying to stop stadium bond
Regardless of whether you support the stadium or not it is a huge insult to our democratic process that there is a law on the books requiring a referendum for publicly funded stadiums in the city of Minneapolis yet this law was not followed. It sends the message that the Vikings and the NFL are not subject to the same laws that everyone else is.

If thats the law then thats the law. However, I have to wonder, if this was such an issue then why did'nt the complaintant initiate action sooner Why did he wait until the 24th hour unless..........is it possible that he is simply trying to get his 15 minutes of fame?? I sure this gets resolved quickly and does'nt hold up construction.

Re: Former Minn mayor candidate trying to stop stadium bond
If I read the article correctly, he did try the lawsuit earlier and lost. If I understand correctly, what he's now claiming is that the funding mechanism for the stadium has changed because the originally planned sources did not generate the revenue needed. So the claimant states that the agreement and decisions that the referendum did not apply might not stand the test under changed circumstances. Personally, I hope it dies a quick death because I feel the road was traveled back in 2012 when the stadium was approved. But they did circumvent a requirement voted by Minneapolis residents that any more than a $10 Million contribution to a stadium required a voter referendum. So it may have legs though its not clear to me why the claimant has standing to sue but I'm not a lawyer so don't really understand the nuances.

No, just a little humor. You should try it, very relaxing.

Southern Cal just called. After reviewing this season's game performances, they're no longer interested....

And the MSFA strike back. They want the plaintiffs to post a bond to make payments while the case is being held up in the courts.

Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

^Muscle. Can't imagine Doug Mann has $50 million sitting around to cover those sorts of costs.

Doug Mann has never won any election he's been in and I doubt this will gain steam. He's holding up quite a few construction jobs for Minnesotans.

The Minnesota Supreme Court has dismissed lawsuit that delayed sale of bonds for #vikings stadium construction. #mnleg
