Re: Harvin or Patterson, who would you take?
I'm surprised some people would prefer Harvin, considering all the extra baggage. Patterson has already shown that he's equal to or better than Percy. CP84 all the way
Re: Harvin or Patterson, who would you take?
Patterson by far. I won't knock Harvin for the migraines because I get migraines too and I can't do anything when I get one, not even sleep. It's inescapable torture. Plus Harvin was injured a lot due to his more violent style of play. But not only does Patterson seem to be a better athlete, he has a better attitude as well. He has Harvins ability to run after a catch, but has the speed to go deep, and the size to win jump balls too. If he gets the drops under control, he's going to be a nightmare for defenses. So right now Harvin only has an edge in the hands department.
Patterson averaged nearly 5 more yards per return than Harvin in their rookie year. And I don't remember opponents going out of their way to kick the ball away from Harvin on kick returns the way they did with Patterson this year. They were genuinely terrified of kicking to Patterson.
Code: Select all
ret-yards avg td long
2009 Harvin 42-1156 27.5 2 101
2010 Harvin 40-933 23.3 1 95
2011 Harvin 16-520 32.5 1 104
2012 Harvin 16-574 35.9 1 105
2013 Patterson 43-1393 32.4 2 109

CP for sure.
He's at least as good of a runner if not better. I do think Harvin is still a better receiver but CP is young and did show a lot of improvement this year in that area.
CP is also not as injury prone (knock on wood) and hasn't shown any attitude issues to this point.
Oh, and don't look now but Harvin is injured AGAIN.

Harvin injury prone? It looks like he just got nailed hard enough for a concussion.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Wow I can't believe Seattle shut the Saints out the first half, very impressive.

Harvin out for remainder of the game with a concussion.

Seattle's owner is probably not so sure of making that trade now after a whole season of Prissy Harvin , I mean Percy Harvin.
Good Riddance

It is not that difficult of a question, who would you take if you had a a choice Harvin or Patterson?GBFavreFan wrote:First of all, why is it one or the other? The only situation that would've been is if they were both UFA's and only wanted to pay one. Might've been nice to have both had we kept Percy. btw, his primary issue with the Vikings was their insistence on starting Christian Ponder, which has since become the unanimous consent of everybody in the Viking kingdom except MothmanThe other reason I don't like the comparison is they are different players that offer different gifts. Each is talented in their own way. Percy can make a garbage QB look average to good, and Cordarrelle can make an average QB look very good.
Unfortunately Percy is gone, and I hope he gets to play, win, and shine like we all know he can in the Super Bowl, but he's gone. I think Patterson has monster potential and I love him with the Vikings. So at the end of the day I think both guys will have great careers, so everybody wins!

I like how some people who were all about keeping Harvin, not making a trade, guy isn't injury prone, less than a year later? Good riddance.

Because a good little skoldier wanted to blow all over the Viking's horn.First of all, why is it one or the other?

Yeah PH was a talentless nobody. That's why Seattle paid so much for him. And ofc, they don't know talent. Good riddance indeed! Your hatred for PH cracks me up.Demi wrote:I like how some people who were all about keeping Harvin, not making a trade, guy isn't injury prone, less than a year later? Good riddance.

Percy Harvin will not play in the NFC Championship Game.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed that Harvin is out on Sunday against the 49ers after suffering a concussion last week against the Saints. The announcement comes as no surprise: Harvin had missed practice all week, and from all indications he wasn’t going to be able to make it through the NFL’s concussion protocol.
