Disclaimer: I live in L. A. They have zero credibility here. L.A. Is a better market for the TV contracts and Super Bowls alone, but they don't want to cave and fund a stadium out of league coffers that would pay for itself very soon given the popularity of the league or lose the threat of moving to L.A. for other teams that need stadiums.
Goodell's all about "growth" and cares very little about what makes sense from a football perspective. It's all about a business mindset that favors needless growth at the expense of the very successful status quo. That's why 18-game seasons, more playoff games, another Thu night package and most ridiculous of all a team (or God forbid a Super Bowl) in London are on the table. The players don't seem to want it and fans are luke warm at best so I'm curious what Lord Roger and his jolly band of gentlemen get on these silly notions.
BTW, did you see the TV ratings this season? Goodell is doing a lot right and may indeed push thru these changes that make simple fans like me cringe.

LONDON -- The NFL has announced the dates of its three regular-season games in London next year, with the Dallas Cowboys playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10 on Nov. 9.
The first game will be played in Week 4 on Sept. 28, with the Oakland Raiders facing the Miami Dolphins.
A month later, in Week 8, the Atlanta Falcons will play the Detroit Lions on Oct. 26.
