Watched a Saints game lately and you didn't hear Katrina mentioned?!? Anyone?! In years?! Have you?
I don't care if this is mean or not, but I'm sick of hearing about it. Yeah. I hate the Saints, for obvious reasons, but even if I didn't, I wouldn't want to hear about Katrina every.single.freaking.time I watch a game. Honestly, I wouldn't. I like to use football to escape the sad realities of life...not this!
It really is getting old. Really.
Hey! NFL! We get it. We know. We have our TVs, Internet, cell phones, etc. How do you think we pay attention to the NFL? Yep. We are aware of Katrina. Can we get through a Saints game without being reminded? Can we? Just once?
I wonder if I got a dollar for every time I heard "Katrina" during Saints games over the years how much money I'd have? Any guesses? I'm sure I'd have enough to buy myself a Vikings ticket or two.
Blah.
Someone let me know when we can stop feeling sorry about Katrina AND, more importantly, stop being oh-so-proud of the Saints for not sucking anymore after Katrina.
Thank you.

I totally agree. Sick of them bringing it up every freaking time. Blah blah blah Sean Payton comes to New Orleans... blah blah blah he gets Brees off free agency after Miami passed blah blah blah. Everyone thought they would re-locate after katrina but didn't blah blah blah
WE DON'T FREAKIN CARE ABOUT IT ANY MORE. IT WAS 7 FLIPPIN YEARS AGO

Hey! You're hired to cover all Saints games for the next 4 decades. You have the right idea.PotGoblin wrote:I totally agree. Sick of them bringing it up every freaking time. KATRINA is getting old? How about 9-11???
America has been reduced to a country of worthless self-pittying pussies. I would gladly kill the next moron who wants to erect a godamn monument to ANYTHING. Get on with your lives and quit feeling sorry for yourselves.

The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Re: Have you...?
What if it is a monument depicting a triumphant Viking standing a top a pile for fallen packers?

Re: Have you...?
At least 9/11 and Katrina caused real damage. What about Boston? Pity world series win and trip to the Stanley cup. Starting to think all that separates the Vikings and the super bowl, is a fire.

Re: Have you...?
What's your point? That I shouldn't be bothered about hearing about Katrina because I speak of other issues? Are those issues being talked about 8 years later? 8 years later!!! If you've watched a Saints game or two, you'd understand. It's the context. It was briefly explained above. They don't really talk a whole lot about the devastation to the city or people of New Orleans. They more or less link it to Payton and Brees coming over, and paint them as heroes of some sort because of "what they've done for the team after Katrina." They throw "Katrina" in there so we can pity them and give them UNNECESSARY praise. How many of these rich guys lost homes in 2005? Not many. Most weren't even a part of the team. Of those who did, how many do you think are still struggling to pick up the pieces? Not many. The real "victims" aren't the Saints or their players "post-Katrina". That is the point. That is why it is annoying. And, yes, it is annoying to hear about the same sad story over and over and over again. That's just me. As far as the other things you mentioned, if I hear the same story for 8 years all out of context and twisted into something that it shouldn't be, I'll have a problem with that, too. I'm hardly the only one who feels this way. This thought has been had for years now.Valhalla wrote:So Katrina is mentioned once or twice over a 3 and a half hour game.
But it is irritating to hear Katrina mentioned because we are watching the game for mere entertainment??
