Hmmm what was that stat I heard today? Manziel has 4 INT's in the RZ in the past 2 games, or something like that? If you want to watch an NFL caliber QB, watch Alabama tonight xD.

If Jonny Football had Bama's defense he would never have never lost a game. Period. AJ is spoiled with the talent around him.

I'm not looking at just wins and losses. AJ plays the same defenses as Manziel and is putting up pretty good numbers too. Best of all he's not running around like a chicken with his head cut off lol. AJ doesn't quite put up the same numbers because he's yanked late in most games due to his team being up big.

Last year he had 30 TD's with only 3 INT's and completed 67% of his passes. And they weren't conservative, he averaged over 9 yards per pass attempt. His efficiency is similar this year but like I said he's getting yanked in most games so he hasn't been able to put up the huge numbers like Manziel who never gets yanked because like you mentioned, A&M's defense sucks.

But I admit, I'm more biased toward pocket passers. Those mobile guys rely too much on their legs and therefor get injured all the time, and develop more slowly in the throwing department.

Manziel would be an upgrade over Ponder in the vision, accuracy, and arm department, but I still believe he's going to struggle in the NFL because the speed of NFL defenses are going to limit his mobility and prevent him from getting away with a lot of those throw it up for grab type throws. And he doesn't look like a kid that's going to handle frustration very well, a la Jay Cutler.

This is why the Vikings shouldn't Draft him. He has all the physical talent in the world but he doesn't seem to have the selfless attitude and leadership to be a great QB in the NFL

Question.... Does anyone on this thread ever go past the 1st page on a daily basis?

I rarely read past the half way point of page 1. Everything else is old, and the threads become too long and I don't have time to read 20 pages in hope the subject changes.

I enjoy every thread about Ponder, drafts, stadiums, etc. etc. etc. New threads keep me coming back and interesting titles help me decide which threads to read. Had Purplehaze put 'I want this guy' in the middle of a draft thread, it would have been lost. And would not have caught my eye.

As a new thread it caught my attention, and I was glad because i don't know much about Johnny Football and was actually coming to this message board tonight in hopes to read about him.

So... Thank you Purple Haze.

Neat play. Dude looks like he has finesse on this throws. I need to see more before I judge. I wonder if I should start a thread dedicated to videos of Johnny Football. Where you can't make a comment without backing your opinion up with video......
Cheers. :burp: Just got a gut feeling about this guy for us. We are so over due for a franchise QB it is sickening.

JFB is the QB version of Dez, he's a drama queen. He doesn't throw a better ball the Teddy , AJ, Mariota or Boyd, but gets 5 times the media coverage. And he has the best overall Offense of all thee teams.

The same way you "know" he's going to be successful in the NFL.

You don't come under investigation because you're a great leader.

And why does he have the best offense? lol. And by the way you get media coverage usually because you are good.

Cause the Aggies like the O side of the ball? I have no idea. Its only partly due to JFB putting the pressure on himself by running out of a perfectly good pocket.

Having the best offense has nothing to do with his leadership ability. He is extremely talented as a QB but a franchise QB is more than just a talented QB, they are leaders.

He gets the most coverage because drama sells.

And it figures, CBS is all glitchy on directv tonight so I can't watch the Bama game. Is it snowing out? Stupid directv. Crazy how it's only CBS though. LOL and of course the commercials come in fine. #conspiracy

I guess AJ is struggling so far tonight too lol. Figures the day I decide to talk him up he goes out and looks bad.

I've got direct TV as well and I haven't had too many problems. The Alabama offense has not been able to get Going so far. There have been some opportunities for McCarron, he's just missed them
