Will this finally be the end of Frazier?

Post by PurpleMustReign »

I put minimal blame on Josh Freeman. I feel bad for him because every time he threw the ball, he was on the ground immediately after.
I didn't think they could play any worse than they did last week, but they did. Embarrassing.
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." ‪#‎SKOL2018

Reps, reps and more reps for Freeman, and if he was going to start this soon, maybe real scrimmaging should have happened for the last two weeks. Did it? What's the point of griping and going on for a week, checking into this forum to repeat the frustration. That was an NFL team we've seen for two weeks! These coaches are beyond dreadful. Cassel could have hit those receivers and put a win in the column. I haven't yelled at the television this much in a long time, well, since last week.

It really ought to be. 0 offensive points against an 0-6 team in the bottom of the league in every facet of the defense.
It was clearly an enormous mistake to start Freeman over Cassel or Ponder.

I think a good, solid, 20+ point in division loss will do the trick. The Packers could hang 30 or 40 on this team like whistling
dixie. A big Metrodome blowout and the Wilfs will go Jersey Mafia on the coaches.

I think Frazier has finally been defeated and good riddance

If Frazier goes, then Spielman needs to go. The guy that puts the team together needs to share in this.

It doesn't sound like it initially. Obviously a lot can change quickly but this is Wilf's statement right after the game.

I started looking at the schedule when we lost to the Browns. I was looking for that Packer home game. I said, "right there, that'll be Fraziers last game on the Vikings sideline after we get blown out". It happened to Childress so it's only fitting it happens to Childress 2.0. Milquetoast will simply be toast next week. Sadly for us, it's another prime time game, and probably another embarrassing loss. The booo birds are going to blow the lid off the dome.

I miss Childress. And that's all I'm going to say about that. 8)

Frick, this game made me miss Ponder, too. :|

Most of all, I just miss winning. What's that like again? I hope AP reminds us.

Rant mode on.

This was an appalling game! I have never seen such utter incompetence on just about every level. I like Frazier, I respect him, but he has surrounded himself with buffoons. An incredibly talented defensive line that can't get consistent pressure and seems a step slow. Blitzing linebackers who merely get eaten up in the middle instead of bringing pressure up the middle forcing the QB to roll out to be devoured by the ends. But no... instead the ends loop around high, the QB steps up and under the pressure and makes a play. Genius. Pure evil genius. Xavier Rhodes is a shutdown corner in the making... but not with this lack of coaching. Cook should be improving, but looks completely overmatched. And Josh Robinson cannot possibly be that horrible, can he? The linebackers are a hot mess. And sadly enough, the defense was a positive through most of the game!

Matt Kalil was a Pro Bowler last season. The OL were road graders. Are you telling me the entire unit took a step back during the offseason. Coaching? Hello? What kind of moron takes your most dangerous weapon off the field on third down. SO INFURIATING!!!! AD was starting to find his groove, and suddenly, presto change-o, it's third down and he's not on the field. My 75 year-old mother looked at me and sincerely asked, "Why is Peterson on the sideline on 3rd down?" Because Musgrave is an idiot!

If I am working with a young QB and a simplified playbook, I am at the very least going to give him plenty of possibilities to succeed without overwhelming him. "Here's your hot read, if he's covered, find the open guy. If everyone's covered, throw it away safely." No checkdowns, no fuss, just find someone open if you can and throw it to him. If you send out more than two guys (I know, asking a lot of this OC, isn't it?), at least one should find a way to get open... unless your WR coach can't get your WR corps to improve despite the influx of talent (Patterson and Jennings).

Get your playmakers on the field and involved early and often!!

WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WAS THAT DECISION TO RUN THE BALL JUST BEFORE HALFTIME ALL ABOUT???? Talk about undermining your players' confidence. Unforgivable.

And finally, if your new QB is struggling, getting frustrated, and you see his confidence visibly melting away with each hit - sit him down and send in someone else. I mean it, I wanted to see Ponder in the 3rd Quarter. Or Cassel. Anything to make the pain stop. Freeman's confidence was shattered at that point. He was flailing and was about to drown. Sit him down, soothe his ego and start getting him mentally ready to move on to next week.

I really hated Childress by the end. I don't hate Frazier in the least, but the buck stops with the man at the top, and the coaches around him suck. Beyond all reason. I have to say that I am ready to see this team go in a different direction, because this is just too painful to watch. We fans who keep watching are all gluttons for punishment.

Rant mode off.

Yeah, I just needed to unload. I will come back tomorrow a little more level headed, but believe me, I certainly wanted to drop more than one profanity in this little tirade. It took a lot of self control to avoid it.

All I can say is that right now - top to bottom - I have no faith in this coaching staff. None.

There was what, two Spielman first round picks starting tonight? The guy is a hack and has pissed away nearly a decade. We need a new gm immediately, and it is the one spot that can be fixed with minimal disruptions. The guy has no clue on how to get our ufa to resign, and hasn't brought in a meaningful FA in 6 years. The roster is filled with mostly mid rounders from the last several years.

I know right? I was so disgusted. And in typical Viking fashion we saved our worst debacle for prime time.

Now you lost me.

Ok now you got me back xD. It's amazing how our blitzers always get swallowed up, but when teams blitz us they're almost always unimpeded.

This has got to be my biggest pet peeve. Not only that, AD isn't even involved with our hurry up or 2 min offense. No gotta go with slow-mo Gerhart! Most athletic guy in the league on the bench during the games most crucial series. Gets my blood boiling.
BGM wrote:at least one should find a way to get open... unless your WR coach can't get your WR corps to improve despite the influx of talent (Patterson and Jennings).
Our receivers do seem to give up early on a play, but I think it's partly because of Ponder. They're so used to Ponder taking off and running when a play breaks down. When Freeman scrambles it's to buy more time and he keeps looking down field. The receivers let him down tonight in that regard.
BGM wrote:Get your playmakers on the field and involved early and often!!
Get them involved in the hurry up offense too. No our hurry up offense consists of Rudolph, Carlson, and Gerhart. Are you kidding me? The 3 slowest guys in the league on hurry up? That's a joke right?
BGM wrote:WHAT IN GOD'S NAME WAS THAT DECISION TO RUN THE BALL JUST BEFORE HALFTIME ALL ABOUT????
Finally! Someone brought that up. I thought I was the only one bothered by that nonsense. We called a timeout on the Giants drive to preserve time, then we took a shot on 1st down, then 2 runs. I was like WTF? You're 1-4 with nothing to lose, why not take a couple more shots and maybe generate some momentum? And as you said, instill some confidence maybe. But oh no, once again we're more afraid to make a mistake than to make a play. Play it safe philosophy bites us again.
BGM wrote:And finally, if your new QB is struggling, getting frustrated, and you see his confidence visibly melting away with each hit - sit him down and send in someone else.
I know! I can't believe even I wanted to see Ponder in there late. But what really makes me angry is why Cassel was made inactive. The only QB that has looked good for us and we're going into a game where there's a good chance the starter might struggle? Nope Frazier tied his own hands by naming Ponder the backup. I would have started Cassel, but if I were forced to start Freeman, Cassel would have been the backup and Freeman would have been pulled if he looked that raw.

I know the feeling ... you feel lighter don't ya? If you're interested in joining the naysayers club I can hook you up with a representative that can help you get started with our naysayer starter package. We're the fastest growing club in Minnesota this time of year.

Like the ESPN analysts said, I wouldn't be surprised if Adrian Peterson pulls a Barry Sanders. This team sucks ### and he doesn't deserve to be around a pathetic franchise. We do not deserve a MVP running back. He is too good for this team. This is another reason why we should trade him. I know people are thinking, "Why trade away our best player, that's stupid!" However, I fear the Vikings will eventually cause Peterson to lose his passion for the game, just like Sanders, if they keep playing like this. This team just needs to clean house, with everyone single player and staff member.

Time to stop drinking the purple koolaid and realize this team wont have a successfully built roster before AD loses his prime.
