I blame Ponder, Robinson and most of the defense. As well as some of the play calling by Muskrat.Just Me wrote: So you're blaming Josh Robinson then?

Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

I was just kidding Demi since his description also describes Robinson (and probably others - but Robinson was the most obvious).Raptorman wrote: I blame Ponder, Robinson and most of the defense. As well as some of the play calling by Muskrat.
I've told people a million times not to exaggerate!

Wow, thanks for putting things in perspective a little bit.808vikingsfan wrote: I don't think it matters what the other teams record is at this point. They have to win tomorrow to keep up with the other teams in the division. I know it's a big IF, but if they beat the Giants and somehow beat the Packers, the division could look like this going into week 9:
Packers 4-3
Bears 4-3
Lions 4-4
Vikings 3-4
This is if the Lions lose to the Cowboys next week too.
These are a big next two games we have coming up, especially against the First place Packers, were going to need to play alot better if we want a chance at the postseason this year.
Honesty, I know its a long shot but you gotta BELIEVE. if they're own fans dont even belive in them, who will?

SO, what do you all mean by "give up"? I'm curious as to what that really means for you.

Good question. I was looking at more as "It's over...right". There's never any giving up. No one is going to quit watching the games or cheering for the team. The team isn't going to quit playing. So what's going on here!
Re: We've given up... right?
For me, it means that I hold little hope for them making the playoffs. Maybe that makes watching the losses a little easier.BGM wrote:SO, what do you all mean by "give up"? I'm curious as to what that really means for you.
I'll still watch every games, still follow every idiotic play call, missed tackle, dropped pass and personnel move. Still speculate on such soul-searching topics as who should be the backup middle linebacker and whether they could get anything in a trade for Chase Baker.
Re: We've given up... right?
Yeah give up is pretty much when you realize the team isn't winning the super bowl LOL. Some times that happens in January, some times that happens in September! Still a fan, still watch the games, pay deep attention to the team, no expectations left at all though.

Glad somebody else can see it. I do. it's nuts to read post thinking playoffs still. Have they see the rest of our schedule? The giants game is about the only shot to win we have left to winDemi wrote: We're on our third QB in less than half the season. We're done. Well done. Stick a fork in us. Not only that but our defense is pathetic. Passing, rushing, scoring...everything. And we lost one of our best defensive players....

Re: We've given up... right?
what good will winning do us now? we look as bad as those mora era saints. i'm just hoping to see a couple of deep throws from freeman or more than one attempt to patterson.
Re: We've given up... right?
You're not the only one. I'm excited about it too. It doesn't matter if it's realistic to think the team can still make the playoffs, they haven't been eliminated and it's more fun to hope and see how the season plays out then to assume the worst and give up. People were giving up and declaring the season over last year too and then the Vikings won 5 of their last 7 games and made the playoffs.808vikingsfan wrote:Why even suit up right? Peterson should just sit the rest of the year.
I may be the only one but I'm excited about tonight's game.
The season lasts 16 games, not 5.

That's the spirit!
They're 1-4 with 11 games remaining. Let's see, what good could winning do them? Hmmm...

Re: We've given up... right?
I don't know which topic to place this, but this one is as good as any. The Vikes coaches were/are more interested in getting Freeman reps than actually winning the game. Cassel should have started, and the Vikes offense would have had a very good chance of producing, thus winning! Unbelievable. I am more put out with these coaches and coordinators then the players. Need anyone say anything about pass accuracy?

Yep, the Vikings have given up. At some point the fans will.
