Mathematically possible, not probable. Reality. Until it says 100% not possible for the playoffs it's possible. And I for one, do not expect them to make the playoffs.

I just love this "giving up" baloney. You know, I watched this team fall short almost more times than I can count. There are guys here who have been around longer than I have who have seen worse, much worse than what we have happening this season. I don't care if this team goes 0-16, I am not giving up cheering and being excited and looking for improvement. Besides, they can always throw a wrench in the seasons of the Packers and Bears, which gives me no end of pleasure. Let's face it, we're all Vikes fans for one reason or another, through thick and thin. But if you want to jump off the bandwagon when the going gets tough, please be my guest.

There sure are a lot of people quick to do that (give up on the team). You see it in game day threads when they trail, we saw it last season before they made their run to the postseason and here we are again. Admittedly, things don't look good right now but IF they beat NY tomorrow they'll have a chance next Sunday night to pull within one game of the first place Packers... by beating them. I don't expect things to play out that way but they certainly could. 1-4 looks bleak. 3-4 would look pretty encouraging. Why give up?

If you don't want every thread to be a P thread, wouldn't it be better to not comment about it instead of instigating an argument everytime his name comes up?
i'm not the one that brought him up. listen, if guys wanna talk about ponder every single thread for years to come that's fine by me. I simply pointed out that it might be more difficult that he's no longer going to see the field.

but just so i'm clear...it's fine for people to continue bringing ponder into threads that have absolutely nothing to do with him, but not ok for me to point out the silliness in that?

I doubt demi took offense. he responded to my comment and I responded back. seemed like nothing but I apologize if I offended.

ponder.

You don't think Ponders terrible play against three average teams had anything to do with the fact that we're out of the playoff chase..and giving up?

Average QB play...followed by acquiring Freeman, and we not have a reason to give up. But he dug us a hole so deep, so fast, we're barely even mathematically alive anymore. Ponder is THE single biggest reason we have no reason to not give up at this point. Or let's just blame an entire unit huh. Not the player who was a bottom one or two player at his position the entire time he started. And was unable to even give a remotely competent performance while he was starting. To the point they start his backup, and then sign a free agent to replace both of them.

Look at all those Debby downer websites xD. I bet Pb has a website out there that still has us at 100% to make the playoffs. Optimism, sometimes it's just delusion.

I agree with Jim. There still a chance at salvaging this season but they have to win tomorrow. I don't care how ugly, they just need to find a way to win right now.
Beating a winless team doesn't salvage anything. :(

Why have people just given up on the "any given Sunday" rule? If you still have a chance to make the playoffs, you still have a chance, so there's no point in giving up before that.

I don't think it matters what the other teams record is at this point.
It matters because every other team we play is better than them...and a favorite. A win is a win. But winning one game against a bad team isn't going to mean any better chance of beating all of the other teams we play that aren't bad teams.

I haven't given up yet, but I'm real glad I don't have ESPN so I don't have to watch tomorrow. I will listen though. And if Freeman does well I'll be happy; if he stinks it up, THEN I'll give up.

I give up when we're mathematically out. Bears started last season 7-1 and division wise we only have 2 away losses. Plenty of football left to play.

We might just turn this season around, you never know. But If we lose 8 games or more, then I'd give up on this season.

So you're blaming Josh Robinson then?
