I agree Rob Ryan wouldn't be a bad name to consider. Also...

Mike Zimmer
Mike Schula
Brian Schottenheimer
Our old friend Coach Billick (Just don't let him draft the QB... :) )
And, for a more left-field pick...Cooper Manning!
Someone mentioned getting a CFL coach (ala Trestman) in another thread; that seems to be working out pretty good for da Bears, I'd be ok with copycatting the idea.
I'm not sold on getting a college coach either, unless they've had some prior experience/success in the NFL, be it coaching or playing.

Saban quit on the Dolphins, no NFL team will hire him again. Meyer might be a decent one to look at. I also wouldn't mind seeing an offensive minded coach from a successfull NFL team. I know one thing, Frazier has the stench of Childress on him. I want a brand new start, with new systems, new philosophy. Someone that will come in and get the QB he wants, and build an offense for todays NFL, pass first.

We need an offensive minded coach, but Id take him as def cord.

I think the best familiar face available is Lovie Smith. He's had success with the Bears and can build a defense.

I would love Lovie Smith as the DC. He obviously can get it done on that side of the ball. As an HC, not so much, as great as he was on defense he was never very strong on O. My opinion is the HC is there to bring greatness to one phase of the game and be a strong leader / motivator for the whole team. HC needs to let the other phases be run by their respective coordinators. I do no think there is a HC out there who is great at everything and as such, you need one who can delegate effectively.

Took them to a super bowl, 96 with Bledsoe.

No Parcels isn't coming back, and the game has passed him by anyways.

I know he certainly isn't coming to MN. But neither are 99% of the names listed here.

But I would take Lovie and Billick over what we have now in a heartbeat. I don't want Lovie to HC though...

I don't watch college or CFL and certainly don't want a college coach. We need people with NFL experience, and NFL success.

I don't know, but there are a lot of guys out there that are big time names who could ignite the crap out of the fanbase and would definitely help the Vikes win some damn games.

Cowher, Holmgren, Gruden....

dead_poet, more than one lady, but I thought your post was hysterical!

I don't know who for HC, just that we need to change. I'd love to see Winfield as a position coach for our DBs, his mentoring has prepped him for that within the team and I think we really miss his presence on the sidelines. HC, OC & DC need to leave, that's for sure. Honestly I think most fans I know would be better at calling plays so it wouldn't take much to upgrade.

Wish the Wilfs would get their collective heads out of their arses and DO something. Even if it's not perfect, DO something!
