Link: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... er=ya5nbcsAdrian Peterson is indeed dealing with a personal situation that a source close to Peterson describes as “tragic.”
The source declined to share any further details, explaining that it’s a subject Peterson will address at the appropriate time.
On Thursday, Stu Whitney of the Argus (S.D.) Leader reported that Peterson remains in Sioux Falls, “dealing with [a] medical issue involving [a] young family member that likely will be a police matter” and that it is a “very serious” health situation.
No further details are currently available. Multiple tipsters have suggested a possible link to news of a Sioux Falls toddler being in critical condition, and a man named Robert Joseph Patterson charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant.
We continue to extend our best wishes to Adrian Peterson and his family.

Yeah. People are sick. That's what I know. I hope things turn out okay and there's justice. As you said, this stuff happens on a daily basis. Sometimes I explore CNN and just read the news when I'm bored...I wish I wouldn't. This is a sick world.

Anyone that could do this to a 2 yr old is one sick individual. Stories like this make me sick! I hope they lock the piece of trash up and throw away the key.

Re: "tragic" Situation for Adrian Peterson
I offer my thoughts and prayers to this child and the people who love him, this sounds like a very sad situation. One article said that the child is believed to be Adrian Peterson's son.
How somebody can allow their child to be left alone in the custody of relative a stranger is beyond me. I have a 7 year old daughter who has never even been left with a babysitter. Raising children is one of life's biggest commitments and responsibilities. It saddens me that so many fathers and mothers are unable or unwilling to properly care for these poor children.

I'm warped. All I could think of was offensive players having great games when things like this happen to them.
Turn those lemons into lemonade and get us 200/2 TD!

Yes, you are. I hope that if this is true, Adrian is in the hospital by that boy's side until he walks out of the hospital 100% recovered. If that boy is Adrian's son, and if that boy is in a hospital (or worse) on Sunday I will lose a lot of respect for Adrian if I see him on a football field.Hunter Morrow wrote:I'm warped

Why would you lose respect for AP if he plays? People deal with these kind of things in there own way. I wouldn't hold anything against anyone in this kind of situation. If this story is true, it is his son, and Adrian plays I am fine with that. If he doesn't play I am fine with that to. It's his decision and I will support whatever he does.

Some people... it has gotten to the point where I have lost most of my faith in humanity. How anyone could beat an infant is mind-boggiling.
Sioux Falls is my hometown. If there is a sliver of a silver lining in this tragedy, the infant will be in the hands of great healthcare professionals at either Sanford hospital or Avera hospital. Hopefully the little guy can pull through, prosper, and lead a productive life.

OMG. Peterson's SON? Horrible. Everything about this. Seriously. WHY?
http://www.tmz.com/2013/10/11/adrian-pe ... ild-abuse/TMZ is reporting that Peterson's 2-year-old son is in critical condition in a South Dakota hospital after being assaulted by the man dating the child's mother

I guess I need to explain thisNDVikeFan wrote:Why would you lose respect for AP if he plays? People deal with these kind of things in there own way. If a man's 2 year old son is laying in a hospital bed in critical condition and that man is playing a game of football it shows me where his priorities lie. I would absolutely lose all respect for that man. That little boy needs all the strength and love available to help him pull through and I would sincerely hope that the strongest of those people would be his Mother and Father.
I believe that Adrian is a good man and will do the right thing here, I was only saying that I was disgusted by the previous poster hoping that this tragedy helped spur Adrian to a good game on Sunday. That should be the absolute last thing on any reasonable and compassionate persons mind right now.
