Re: Should we trade for Freeman?
Definitely some nice plays there. It appears that he has a lot more confidence compared to Ponder, too. There were defenders all over his guys and he still threw it in there and left the rest up to them. I like it. I wish him the best--wherever he goes.808vikingsfan wrote:I guess I'll be the one that posts the Freeman highlight reel.

Nice deep ball. Believable PA. Keeps his eyes downfield. Resembles an NFL QB.

I can put a highlight reel like that together for Ponder as well. Although I don't think it will be 11:42 minutes long. Maybe a minute or two.808vikingsfan wrote:I guess I'll be the one that posts the Freeman highlight reel.

No they shouldn't trade for another basket case QB. He received a raise after his big season in 2010, but he regressed since that time. He's better than Ponder, but he isn't championship material. More time would be wasted, with little more than cute little wild card one and dones.

Re: Should we trade for Freeman?
Do the Vikings even have the cap room to sign him? I'd be beyond shocked if this happened. And incredibly frustrated/disappointed.

We couldn't even keep winfield so I doubt it. The only way it works (trade wise) is to extend him to a multi year deal and shift the money around to the later years, he's not going to take a pay cut just because, it could even be his last year in the NFL!dead_poet wrote: Do the Vikings even have the cap room to sign him? I don't like it, I hope spielman doesn't either but who knows. He may very well think most of Freeman's problems are due to the bucs and if that's the case I could see him making a deal. Would be nice if we could extend him to a total of 3 years and just spread his current salary out + some incentive based stuff to pay for it, otherwise I dont want to see a lot invested in him. We gotta re-sign a lot of D-linemen this year, we can't afford to invest in a head case QB.

At least Freeman has shown to be really good before. What pisses me off is that drafting a young QB to groom over another couple years eats away at AP's career here.dead_poet wrote: Do the Vikings even have the cap room to sign him? Yeah it really depends on the contract. I think LaCanfora is correct and they'll ship him off for a late round pick as they don't want any controversy with Glennon. He's as good a flier as any late round QB picked in the draft so that part is fine so long as he's willing to get paid like a late round pick.mondry wrote: We couldn't even keep winfield so I doubt it. If the speculation is true, it's a good sign to me.
I'm not believing Freeman is anymore an answer to the QB situation than what we have....but the fact that Spielman, if it is fact, is seriously considering bringing in more guys to compete, then I feel good knowing where they stand regarding the current situation at QB.
I expect them to draft a QB and LB in the 1st 2 rounds either way.

Hahahaha I did not even bother reading the post when I saw that Jason LaCon'Tool' wrote the piece. What a bum #### reporter. That guy just throws crap at the wall day and hopes something sticks. I was soooooo glad when NFL Network got rid of him/when he went to CBS.

His career is already blown on garbage QBs. There needs to be urgency no matter who is on the team. If Speilman and company don't fix things soon, the next regime will replace.yezzir wrote: At least Freeman has shown to be really good before.
