If they bail on Ponder, my question is: is MBT a player they think can eventually become a long term solution for them and if not, why is he even on the roster?

Personally, I think our 4th string quarterback would be MUCH better than Ponder if given even 15 games-half what we have given Ponder. But he'd need a real coach too, and we don't have that.
I was not impressed when we picked up Cassell. I missed his early preseason performances and only caught his last one where he was 3 for 3 and looked very sharp. There is only one way to find out if he'd be an improvement, and since I'm not in the "lets lose to win the draft" club I say give him a chance. If he sucks for a couple games try MBT, who I don't think is ready but you never know. Some people rise to the occasion, and I'm furious that our coaches keep playing someone who never rises to the occasion while keeping others on the bench and denying them the chance (and I'm talking about Webb now, who has better-MUCH BETTER-arm and legs and never got a fair chance). We really don't have anything to lose; Ponder clearly isn't part of the solution.
