He got a bit lost in the mess today but Floyd had a good game. I saw him plugging up holes and a TFL on a run. He also made the hit on the Hoyer interception. Another positive is Felton is back next week.

I was going to post the same thing. I was really impressed with the way he played today.

The Vikes defense continues to force turnovers at a pretty good pace.

There were other positives too but I'm not in much of a mood to talk about the game after watching the defense allow the opposing team to win on their final drive for the second week in a row. Nearly everybody on the Vikes had a mixed game of positives and negatives. I thought Musgrave called a lousy game today. Overall, the Vikes were out-played and out-coached and they allowed the Browns to make too many plays in all 3 phases of the game. Consequently, there are plenty of negatives but the ones that stand out to me most are the defensive problems in the first half and on the final drive, Loadholt getting whipped yet again for a big play by the defense, Sullivan being owned inside far too much of the time and the special teams allowing a very successful fake punt and fake field goal in the same game.

It's looking like it will be a long, long season.

Patterson touched the ball 3 times I think. We traded more picks for the guy than plays he had.

He'll be more involved next week. In for 10 plays instead of 8, 4 touches instead of 3.

Once again the game had a decision to make, the same decision we had in the Chicago game.

Do we do 3 running plays to take all their time outs or do we sell out to make the first down and potentially go for it on 4th and make it to win?
We split the baby again and lost! To make it worse, we wasted a time out to not even convert and punted on 4th and 2!

Getting burned that badly on fake punts, kicks and field goals. Wow. What is with this special teams defense? Killing us!
First 250 yards to Chicago and now multiple touchdowns on trick plays? Really?

The last 3 minutes of this game defensively was EXACTLY what the last 3 minutes of the Chicago game was, right down to the exact play
to the same side of end zone to the tight end for the loss. What the hell is wrong with Williams and our secondary?

As soon as Blair Walsh kicked that field goal, you saw it coming, didn't you? Admit it! The last 4 minutes was Disney movie level b.s.!
God, could we learn from our mistakes at least once and not script ourselves into the same loss?!

We just don't have anyone who can cover tight ends sadly. None of our Lb's can cover and sanford / Sendejo aren't really starter quality safeties. When the game is on the line, every team knows they can just abuse us there. 3 TD's to one tight end.

a few things:

how is it possible that nobody was covering the wideout on that fake FG? especially AFTER the browns had already faked a punt? inexcusable.

how can the officials still get a call wrong at this point with all the technology/in-game communication? that 15 yard penalty was a killer. not saying you shouldn't be able to get 6 when you start inside opponent's territory, but rule flubs can't happen at this point.

what happened to the offensive line? peterson has NOTHING on 90% of his touches. not his fault. ponder is bad to begin with, but there isn't much he can do when he's got a guy in his face before his completes his drop and/or fake.

WHY DO WE NOT RUN SCREENS?!

how could the vikings allow the browns to play with more intensity than they brought in their home opener? the browns wanted that win, played like they wanted it and they got it. good for them.

Adrian Peterson, too, is something of a liability as a receiver. Average hands, at best, but more significant is that he loses most of his power, quickness and vision when he's a receiver. He looks very average any time he catches the football.

Also, it's interesting reading about Henderson and Sherels getting some love. And to think, many people thought they should get the boot. They were two of the VERY FEW who managed to look decent against the freaking Browns.
