Thank GOD Zygi was smart enough not to do what he did with Childress and extend Frazier longer term after last season. Everyone knew it was a miracle last year. He bit when Childress did it. Not this time.
Hopefully he does it right after this season.

Ya. Zygi can be hated for screwing tax payers -- but at least he has balls, been loyal to staying in MN, and isn't scared to make changes. I think Zygi/Spielman could be a great duo, and they could start that by making obvious changes.

You negative Nancy, you only show up when it's time to fire a coach? Hahaha j/k, welcome back.HuskerViking wrote:I haven't posted on here in years. Going back to the days of Tice.
I have to agree with you.
It's time.
This loss was inexcusable.
A lot of talk in the off season of how good this team was going to be.
Hahaha that was my first thought too. Really?Eli wrote: You have a Ponder jersey??? Seriously?
Thank you! I noticed that too. I think they did that several times in the game. But nothing drove me nuts more than the constant roll out to the right with a 5yd pass on what seemed like every 1st down. Followed by a run up the middle with AD from the bunch formation. Ok so we have a staff that doesn't know how to utilize talent and now they don't know how to utilize the entire field. Spread em out already! It worked on the QB draws.S197 wrote:There was a play in the redzone where the ball was spotted on the right hash. The Vikings lined up TWO receivers to the right. Then rolled Ponder to the right. They literally ran a play that utilized about 20 yards of a field that is 53 yards wide.
Priefer!!! We'll finally have a coach that shows some emotion and isn't afraid to jump on a guy when it's needed.Captain wrote:Who are you going to promote in the middle of the year from this staff?

I don't understand why on 3rd and 5 you try to throw the ball with Ponder on the previous series; I think the Browns were down to their last timeout so the smart thing would have been to run the ball and make them burn it; instead they throw and of course it's 20 feet over the receivers head. Musgrave is not a very smart play caller

I've been saying fire Frazier for 2 years. get rid of muscrat too. Bring anyone in to finish out the year and make a play for whatever college coach is hot after the season. today's coaching was PATHETIC
it was worse than last weeks loss, it was the browns...

Re: Time to fire Frazier....
I have been a pretty ardent Leslie Frazier supporter for the last three years. I could go back over all the arguments, but if you search you will find me consistently saying you guys have read him wrong.
Well, this game was the worst coaching job in years in the NFL. The team was not emotionally, physically, or intellectually ready for this game. Getting fooled on two fake kicks is ridiculous. Running every.single.freaking.time on 2nd and 10 is just mind-numbing.
Frankly, coaches are paid to deliver wins, and Leslie isn't doing it. If I was owner, he's be coaching for his job in London. End of sentence. If he can't get a win when he needs it, against a pretty low-talent squad, when he knows he needs it, we might as well start the audition for next year's coaches.

Re: Time to fire Frazier....
I was a supporter of firing Frazier and his entire staff but then I realized if we get rid of him then we would miss out on those brilliant post game pressers of his. Todays was particularly enlightening when he said "we have some things to work on" REALLY, our 0-3 team has some things to work on........BRILLIANT OBSERVATION AND WHAT A SHOCK!!!
Would these be the same things you said we had to work on last week or the week before because as an NFL head coach you surely would have addressed those all ready so it must be NEW THINGS that cost todays embarrassing loss. But then again.....you never actually identify what they are so maybe its not that you cant fix it maybe the problem is that you don't actually know what they are.
Yes coach Frazier, you are an enigma and you need to stay right where you are because firing you would only mean that someone might actually be held accountable and we don't want to start doing that. After all, this organization has standards and you fit those standards perfectly.

This is getting stupid... Fire Musgrave! Fire Frazier! Bench Ponder! Trade AD! Trade Jared Allen! Tear it all down!
Yeah, this loss sucks, but suck it up, campers. Let's look at some things that might be a little more constructive. Like what can be done about the OL and DL? Did Desmond Bishop make a difference today? What can be done about the inconsistency as a team? Where is the leadership on the field?
And will there be a veteran in the locker room who steps up and fires up the team this week? Because this team needs to set a fire under their backsides somehow.

Re: Time to fire Frazier....
Bishop didn't start but when he subbed in he had a nice TFL. I don't know how many overall snaps he took today. AJ Jefferson was torched on two consecutive plays but for whatever reason was the starter over Rhodes in the base defense. The formula for consistency I think is the same for both sides of the football, work with what you have, not with what you wish you had. For the defense, this means more blitzes and playing press coverage. We have two big physical corners (when Cook can stay on the field), use their strengths.BGM wrote:This is getting stupid... On offense, it would be what a lot of us have been asking for, spread it out. Use all 53 yards of the field, don't bunch everyone up to one side then call a bootleg that way. Get Wright or Patterson out there more than Carlson. Ponder's strength is his legs, his first TD came on a spread formation, not a tight set. Basically stop trying to smash a round peg in a square hole (sound familiar?).

It's so painfully obvious that it's frustrating. It takes so long for musgrave to stop smashing our heads into the wall. Ponder running needs to be a legitimate part of this offense and you do that with things more spread out. Let's face it, the dude's got some wheels and might even be his best attribute. If our O-line is going to get beat, let's let them get beat up the field, that way Ponder can always take off and just run it.S197 wrote: Bishop didn't start but when he subbed in he had a nice TFL. For defense, Rhodes needs to be out there. I don't care if he's too raw or whatever, AJ Jefferson is not getting it done and has no upside. Rhodes could use the reps. I saw bishop in the game for one play, I don't know if he had more but man...

Not for long. I think the only good thing about this season is we only have 6 more games in the metrodome and are finally getting the new Stadium Built.chicagopurple wrote:BUD Grant Still has an office in the dome...........
