Not Nick Saban. Please.

Did you see what he did with the Dolphins? No thanks.

There was a play in the redzone where the ball was spotted on the right hash. The Vikings lined up TWO receivers to the right. Then rolled Ponder to the right. They literally ran a play that utilized about 20 yards of a field that is 53 yards wide.
I've seen that alignment work a million times in the NFL. You can benefit by flooding receivers into a very small area.
Why did we pick a corner in the 1st round if he's behind on the depth chart not just by Cook but also by AJ Jefferson? Really?
Maybe not why did they draft a CB in the 1st round, but why did they draft that one? They don't appear to have much confidence in Rhodes.
Defense gets beat on the same play two weeks in a row, but this time not by an above average QB and TE, but by two "who the heck is that?" guys.
Totally different, though. It wasn't due to mass confusion this time, and Harrison Smith had half-decent (not great) coverage on a TE who looked like a HoFer this game. Perfect throw, too. VERY hard to defend that throw and catch.
Ponder apparently wasn't taught that with under a minute to go, 10 seconds is worth more than 3 yards and an incompletion is better than a short pass over the middle using your last timeout.
Yes, that was unfathomably stupid. Both on the part of Ponder and the coaching staff.

Couldn't agree more. Frazier and the entire coaching staff needs to go.
Abysmal job by them today, which crowned them as the douches we suspected they were after the first two games! :wallbang:

I'd love to see an example. It's not just alignment, you're also rolling your QB towards the sidelines so unless you want him to throw across his body, there's not a whole lot you can do out of that call.
Maybe not why did they draft a CB in the 1st round, but why did they draft that one? They don't appear to have much confidence in Rhodes.
Other than being overly aggressive beyond 5 yards in practice (haven't seen much of it during games) I haven't heard any issues with him. He was a consensus 1st round pick. Spielman evidently had confidence to draft him but perhaps you're right that the coaching staff does not. That's a worrying disconnect.

I'll agree it was tough to defend, although it was difficult to tell from the tv angle whether Smith was in position or got over late. In either case, two very strikingly similar scores to the same position guarded by the same defender. I don't see that as totally different. I think the Browns saw something on tape they felt they could exploit and they did.

Well I just boxed up my Vikings jersey, banners in my house, lanyard, car plate, a few figurines, & rug. Will probably get them back out after the team is overhauled b/c this is pathetic.

I can understand the not firing Frazier argument yet. But Frazier HAS TO step up to his OC and STC and let it be known that this sh*% won't fly anymore. If middle school coaching mistakes CONTINUE to be made, then they all must go.

Look at how the Browns were coached... We haven't had such an aggressively coached Vikings team since... Ever? They tried fake punts, fake fg's, and even went for it on 4th down late in the game.
Meanwhile, we basically sat around picking our butts all game lone and coached and played not to lose. Well guess what, we lost i embarrassing fashion. Disgusting.

Interim could be anyone , you want to pick the real coach at the end of the season so who cares who the interim is ?

Exactly. Firing a coach mid-season can be o.k., because you a re telling your fan base you won't put up with it either.

If only the front office would make quick changes, "when needed," at the same urgency as the fans things would be better. There was a time when the mentality was that "defense wins championships," but then after the last 10 years, a "high-powered offense wins championships." However, there is one ingrained sentiment that permeates the NFL, and especially offensive coaches. The sentiment is that "conservative offensives keep jobs, no matter if there is a losing record." The front office takes several games and seasons to make real changes. Frazier is safe throughout this season, no matter how much he still won't urge his OC to open it up, or try to win ballgames in stead of do your best to not lose them.
