He played like an all pro out there. Today or tomorrow, there needs to be some kind of meeting. Players only as well as coaches having their meeting. This is not cool. This is not the Viking way.
Actually, Hoyer did his part to lose the game for the Browns with his 3 picks, 2 of which were just awful reads. But he did one thing Ponder doesn't do, and that is throw into the endzone.

One thing I just can't stand about Ponder is his inability to make passing plays into the endzone. He avoids it like the plague. True, he ran in for 2 scores, but anyone who thinks Pittsburgh is not going to spy him in those situations next week after watching this tape is kidding themselves.

At some point Ponder has to make a play or two with his arm in the endzone.

Hard to stomach. It's just pure incompetence.

I did, and it seemed to me that Ponder had 2-3 seconds before the D lineman were in on him. Not sure what game you were watching. And another thing, when is the defense going to take responsibility. It is hard for any QB to win when the defense gives up more than 30 points. So far, that's 32 points a game this year. Teams that give up more than 30 points win about 15% of the time.

But it's all Ponders fault. All Ponders fault the Defense let them march down the field and throw a TD just like Chicago did. All Ponders fault the O-line whiffs on blocks that lead to sacks. All Ponders fault that the Special teams gives up a TD on a fake field goal. Yup Ponder has to go. To bad it's not a team game. Ponder sucks.

It may not be ALL Ponder's fault, but you gotta start cleaning house somewhere, and he's at the top of my list, with Loadholt right behind him, and then Jefferson.

He missed Jennings on a key 3rd down out route that would have ran the clock down. Then he inexplicably throws the football to the middle of the field, twice, with less than a minute and one timeout.

This.

The defense also caused 3 turnovers and gave the offense plenty of opportunities.

you are right. How dare we place the blame on our QB. A rookie manages to score the winning drive, but our QB couldn't the drive before. He was as innacurate as can be. And to make things worse, he still checks down for a few 2 yard passes WITH SECONDS LEFT IN THE GAME. But you are right, Ponder isn't to blame, lets blame everyone else.

The Browns field a very good defensive front 7. It's highly under-rated and is every bit as talented as the Lions IMHO.

But all things considered I thought Ponder had time to make plays. It's just he can't. He locks on to his primary target and if that guy isn't open immediately it's off to the races with his legs or a quick checkdown. Doesn't matter the situation. And now that defenses have clamped down hard on AD, it's going to get really ugly. We're going to see what would have happened last year had AD not gone off on a nearly historic rushing campaign.
