Make more excuses.
If Thor came down, grabbed the ball, handed it to a receiver when Ponder throws horribly inaccurate pass, TOUCHDOWN! Rating 90.
Give me a break already. Thank god we won't have to listen to this crap after this year. 3 years of it will be more than enough.

Brady wasn't playing in a climate controlled dome but rather in the pouring rain, and vs a typically good Jets defense. Plus if Dobson played like that for us, the apologists would be all over him, wrong route this, he dropped that, etc etc. But most of all I can't believe someone is trying to compare Brady to Ponder lol. What's that you say? Brady for Ponder in a straight up trade? Nah, Brady looked a little off in the rain last nightRaptorman wrote:Interesting to note that Tom Brady had a QB rating of 71.0 last night against the Jets.
And look at that fire in Brady. Damn, how nice would it be to see Ponder go off on a few guys like that? Like when Burton pulled up on his route in preseason and Ponder threw a pick. Did doe-eye get on his case? Nope, just sulked his way back to the bench.

Not trying to compare. Trying to make the point that sometimes it's not the QB fault. But apparently that is to hard for some to understand. If you watched the New England game you would realize the reason Brady had the rating he did had nothing to do with his throws but had everything to do with what his 2nd tier WR's did not do. Like catch the ball. But then we all know that any pass not caught and every interception is purely the QB's fault. Ponder has problems, I have never said he didn't.Reignman wrote:Brady wasn't playing in a climate controlled dome but rather in the pouring rain, and vs a typically good Jets defense. But I challenge you once again, who could the Vikings have had, that would have been a reasonable pick at the time.... I went back to the 2011 draft thread and one person on this board, one, said anything about picking Kaepernick. Most wanted Gabbert, some wanted Dalton. Of those two how well are they doing? I give Demi credit, he didn't like Ponder from the get go and said so. A lot of people didn't like the pick but were willing to see what he could do. I'm one of them. But I also know that a QB coming into the league and being good right off the bat is extremely rare. The time frame is about 3 years. Ponder is not going anywhere. And if he does who replaces him? Cassel? MBT? So we sit Ponder after 2 games cut him at the end of the season. Then what? We spend $18 million a year for Rivers, if they can get him? Draft another QB that everyone thinks is the bomb. Because there are so many top QB's coming out of college these days. The success rates of first round QB's is about 50%. For the rounds after that, it drops. About the same as any other position. So who do they pick, you have 50% chance of being right.
Who's the next HOF QB in the next draft class?

Brady was blowing a gasket before the first half had ended....long before the rain came. That D is saving their bacon right now.....although facing Emanuel and Smith is hardly a murderers row.
