He is truly special. So good, intelligent, humble, appreciative, hardworking, etc. Just everything you want in a player. Awesome character. He's funny, too! What a man! :)

Tied Joe Kapp's record. Manning is now officially on my watch list.

Honestly? The Vikings aren't even in the same league as teams with QB talent like this. Who's kidding who? It ain't never going to happen with Christian Who-the- #### in there.

Manning simply operates on a higher level than any QB in the league. Nobody runs that no-huddle offense with greater mastery.

Denver looks ridiculously scary this year... They didn't whoop just any team last night; they whooped the defending Super Bowl champs and the entire AFC West pooped its pants.

I'm really glad we passed on this old, hurt bum. Just like we did with that other bum who was too old to do anything for us, Drew Brees.

The Vikes didn't "pass" on Manning. If you thought they had a snowball's chance in hell of signing him after a 3-13 season, you were dreaming. Free agency isn't a supermarket. Teams don't just pick the player they want and then go to the cash register to check out. Manning wanted to go to a potential contender and after 2011, the Vikes didn't fit that definition.

True about manning, I don't recall the Vikings even trying for Brees, which I think many vikings fans did want if I recall correctly at the time. It's not like the Saints were better/closer than the vikings at the time to being a contender.

Manning had 7 TDs last night. How long until Ponder reaches 7 TDs? :)

I say Week 7. 1TD per game

I think the rest of the AFC west already had poop in their pants to start with.

Vikes had no shot at Manning for a couple reasons. 1st their team was no better than the crappy colts teams he played on for years. 2nd, He refused to play on an NFC team because of Eli. The Niners went after him hard. The Niners would be close to unstoppable with thier defense and Manning, IMO.

I really wanted Brees when SD let him go. His shoulder injury scared some peeps. Water under the bridge.

This Broncos team is easily the best cast of characters on both sides of the ball that I can ever remember Payton having around him. IMO, the Colts wasted his talent by not ever building a defense for that guy....just plain wasted. Flacco has as many playoff wins as Manning....and it took 6 years for Manning to get his first.
John Fox knows what he's doing and Del Rio was fine choice over there for running that D.

Comparing Payton Manning to Ponder is weird. Manning is a once in a generation player....hardly the norm. I don't think there has ever been a guy that has all the skills in one package, both physical and mental, like Manning. Just my opinion.

The colts step in their own poop and land Luck too. Watch what kind of team they put around him and see if they learned anything. Leaving Indy was probably the best thing to happen to Manning. Glad it didn't happen sooner.

The Broncos had 7tds last night. And they only needed 4 to win the game. If AD scores twice and Ponder throws two or one or whatever...as long as we win, we win.

The Broncos are 1-0....how long before the Vikings are 1-0 is my main concern.

But to the spirit of your comment: it would be sick to have Manning throwing to our pass catchers~

If I remember correctly, they were still twiddling their thumbs trying to figure out what they were going to do with Daunte Culpepper, even though the end of that relationship had become inevitable at least a month earlier. I think Culpepper was sent to Miami at almost the same time the Saints signed Brees. In other words, Childress and company screwed the pooch and blew an opportunity to get Brees.

Yes. The only teams really going for Brees were the Saints and Dolphins. Dolphins decided to trade for Culpepper instead. The vikings had already decided to move on from Culpepper at that point.

Decker would have had more if he could actually catch the ball when it hits him in the hands
