I've said all along 6-10 and I've seen nothing in the preseason to change that prediction.

Reasons:

1. As great as AD is, can't expect the same performance as last year
2. Losing Winfield will hurt the D......not saying it wasn't the right move for the long term, but it will hurt the D this year. He was the heart and soul, despite his age.
3. Sorry, just not a believer in Ponder.
4. Brutal schedule, including a "home" game in London
5. LB situation is a mess. Still will get killed by TEs in the middle of the field.
6. Interior of the OLine....brutal

I think the last 2 drafts have been good but this team was a total mess 2 years ago after the Chili era and still has a couple of years to go. The biggest concern is obviously Ponder. If Ponder tanks this year, then what will they do next offseason??? Will they try to draft and develop a new QB? Or try a stop gap like Philip Rivers or something if he's available? If they're starting from scratch at QB next year, it might be time to do the unthinkable and trade AD since he might be getting too old to wait for a rookie QB to develop.

Let's see here, the Vikes were 1-3 in the 2012 pre season and went 10-6. It is obvious that the preseason is a good indicator of the regular season record  I will predict, as I did in the same topic that already exists, 10-11 wins.

You have very valid concerns, but the thought of trading Peterson is traumatic! You do have a pretty strong argument here, though. I just hope Ponder develops into who the Vikings thought he could be when they drafted him so we can put these depressing thoughts behind us. :)

I wouldn't set a number based on preseason.....that strikes me as simplistic. But based on their actual schedule: I'm expecting at least 4 wins in the division, hopefully 5. Their road schedule is brutal and a lot of their success will depend their defense keeping things close. I see anywhere from 9 to 11 wins depending on how they round out. If they start out fast for the first seven games I say they win 10 or more....if not they could struggle to win 9.

I don't base my predictions on pre-season games, Lions went 4-0 in pre-season then went 0-16 in regular season.

10-12 wins.

Opening with two divisional games on the road is pretty brutal. If they come out of that stretch 2-0, look out. If they're 1-1, they should be fine and if they're 0-2 it could spell trouble.

1. Lions and Bears on the road
2. Browns trap game
3. "Home game" 4000 miles in London against the Steelers
4.
6 OCT 13 12:00PMCDT ) PANTHERS
7 OCT 21 7:40PMCDT + AT GIANTS
8 OCT 27 7:30PMCDT ' PACKERS
9 NOV 3 12:00PMCST ) AT COWBOYS
10 NOV 7 7:25PMCST , REDSKINS
11 NOV 17 3:25PMCST ) AT SEAHAWKS
12 NOV 24 12:00PMCST ) AT PACKERS
13 DEC 1 12:00PMCST ) BEARS
14 DEC 8 12:00PMCST ) AT RAVENS
Yikes! Murderer's Row!
5. 10 strength of schedule depressed by a 4-12 Lions season and a Roethlisberger injury.

8-8 and a struggle to get there is possible.

I expect them to win those first two plus the Cleveland game......but just the fact that they are road games makes it really tough. Throw in the London game and a road game against the Giants all before the schedule really gets tough in weeks 10-15....it all makes a good start important. The Giants have tended to start slow under Coughlin, so maybe we can steal one there. But, as has been discussed here, the schedule is not easy. Twould be quite exciting to see them rise to the occasion....but it's going to take a heck of a lot more than improvement at QB to make the playoffs.

Just a couple more weeks and we can stop speculating.

Im not basing this off our pre-season records. But Im looking at an 8-8 season. We could win more but I think it's all up to the offense to step up. It seems like the Defense and Special Teams have improvement but with all these new faces on offense we will haven't taken a step forward.

Especially the game at Soldier Field. The Vikes haven't won there since 2007 and their previous win at Soldier Field was in 2000! I hope they win that one because I'm tired of going to those games and watching them lose.

You're right about that and it really does look like a brutal schedule although you never know how things will play out.

Thank goodness. I am ready for the regular season to begin!

I hate games at Soldier Field!.... but we are due.

Yeah, the schedule never seems to play out the way it looks from the onset. And things change week to week~

I literally have NO idea. not a clue. many years I feel ok at least throwing a guess out there but right now I can see us winning anywhere from 3 games to 11 games!

our schedule is more difficult this year than last. although our offense in theory should be better. ponder has the weight of the world on his shoulders in my opinion. if he plays like demi knows he's going to we'll win a few games. if he shows decent improvement like many 3rd year qb's do I think with AD we have the ability to beat some teams.

right now my biggest concern is ponder obviously and our play at linebacker is also a concern.

i'll say 9-7
i'm ready for a beer.
