Gus?
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Weren't y'all discussing quarterbacks who took the Vikings to the Super Bowl? Took not won, right? Kapp didn't? :)

James, you posted after 1 in the morning. I'll let that be your excuse. Time for a little nappy nap. ;)
We were discussing franchise QBs and what makes him a franchise QB. I made the argument that franchise QBs are QBs who atleast take their team to the super bowl. Joe Kapp doesn't count because i said super bowl, not the NFL championship.

Maybe because they want to?? Just because you're tired of my post doesn't mean you think for everyone else. And you of all people can't talk. Making a thread about Mike Wobshcall. I remember some weeks earlier you complaining about this thread saying that there were too many Ponder threads. But as you can see, this Ponder threads has a lot of views and replies so apparently a lot of members of this board liked this thread.

In this particular situation, all I said is that I want Ponder to become a franchise QB and that we lacked a franchise QB since Fran Tarkenton. Thats when all the debate begin. Everytime I say something somebody wants to start a debate, and Im fine with that, it kills free time.

I haven't been on this board long, but from what I have seen all you on my time being here do is complain not just about my threads or other people's threads. It doesn't even have to be about someone's thread, you just complain in general. Anyways, if my posts make you feel some type of way then fine, you don't have to respond to me if it makes you sleep better at night.

I know. But maybe you should look more into it. Come back and let me know what it says about the Vikings/Chiefs Super Bowl and who was quarterback. ;)

Holy crap I am so sick of this type of junk that I try not to read his outlandish posts unfortunately when he is quoted then I have to read them. Of course I was quite enlightened to know that Joe Kapp "did not play in a Super Bowl" :wallbang: Who was their QB when they lost to KC
Do not mistake KINDNESS for WEAKNESS!

Ahahahaha! I see I made an error. Okay, I made a mistake this time. I still stand by my post. We haven't had a franchise QB since Fran Tarkenton. ONLY because Kapp was here for 3 years or so. And what a crappy performance from him in the super bowl may I add. No wonder the Vikings didnt sign him back.

Fran Tarkenton is still our only franchise QB, not because of him leading us to a super bowl as I DID state earlier, but because not only did he get us to some super bowls but he manage to stick with the team and play well for some years and became a household name. I didn't even know who this Joe Kapp scrub was until I had to research on the QB.

Yeah ya did! A big one! I've known you to be a bit loopy at times, so I'm not bothered by it. I'm sensing you're getting under a lot of people's skin on here though. It's kind of funny, though. If they think YOU are bad, they have NO idea how bad things can truly be on a message board. lol. I can assure them, it gets far far FAR worse than you. :P

Also, referring to Joe Kapp as a scrub...probably isn't going to win you many points either. :nono:

He's a baaaaad man.

Believe me, we know and those of us who started out posting on the old Vikings newsgroup on usenet definitely know. That place was eventually overrun and ruined by idiots and trolls.

I think one of the reasons many here have low (or no) tolerance for trolling, obnoxious behavior, uninformed opinions, etc. is because there IS an understanding of how bad it can get and we never want to see that happen here.

Oh, we know ... we just don't play those games ;)

JEC334 in this post is about as far as we'll allow, honestly. It's certainly not a banable offense to get under someone's skin ... but when a person is making up their own facts just so they can argue with someone else it does start to call into question if they're just saying whatever they can to get a reaction, aka trolling ... we're not there yet though, I don't think :)

I assure you, James doesn't "make up his own facts" to argue. He honestly believes what he's saying. He's not doing it to be a troll. With that said, he probably could do a little more research before he goes off on people. lol. Either way, he's not afraid to admit he's made a mistake. That's one good thing. It's a start!

 I am not trolling anyone. I've been on plenty of message boards and I learned that people will let mere opinions get under their skin when it's not the same as theirs. I dont go picking debates, but it seems when I do make a controversial statement, some members respond and want an answer, so I give it to them without lashing out insults and what not.

On the Vikings.com message board and the WeAreVikingsFan.Com boards, things usually got really heated back there. Probably because we didn't have any mods who actually monitor the boards. I remember one member found Melanie's myspace page and kept trying to find as much personal info that they could..

Me I have calm down from what I used to be on message boards. I know the rules of this board and I haven't done anything ban worthy. And it's funny because I think people are accusing me of hi-jacking threads which I may have but it's not on purpose. Unlike my Kevin Williams and Sharrif Floyd thread that got hi-jacked with people posting pics of llamas.

I know my post are controversial and keep it mind im probably the younger Vikings fans on this board. Im only 21 so I dont know everything and haven't really had time to learn the complete history of the Vikings. I just go by what I already know. :govikes:

Oh yes, people are creepers. There is one on this site, too. Not sure what it is about me that makes people want to get all up in my personal biz...but yeah. It's creepy no doubt. I guess I make it too tempting with my screen name being my real name. :)

With that said, things on our old message boards got VERY personal. I suppose that's why people tried to cyber stalk me. lol. Ya either love me or ya hate me. There wasn't much in between. We've had our own battles. Some nasty ones, too. lol.

With that said, I fit in a LOT better around here. While the other sites ended up being 90% negative...I'd say on here it's close to 90% positive. Whew! Where have these people been all of my life?!? While all my positivity used to get drowned out by negativity over there, it's the other way around here. It's kind of beautiful. :D

Anyways, straighten up James. :P I'd hate to see you get booted!

Keep being you, though. And dang it, keep loving on Ponder. I looooooooove it. :D

One Ponder thread after another. You know, for the last three summers all I have read about his how bad Ponder is and how he will never make it. Then there are some optimists out there that stick up for him and say he will be a good quarterback. I haven't ever written my opinion down, I have always read thru the threads and laughed at how worked up some of you get. If only we all got paid to write about our favorite team. Also, the Green Bay fans really need to stay off this site. Its pretty funny how they hate us so much to make user names to our forums and try and troll the site. Anyways, here is my opinion on Ponder. Please comment on my opinion, but I will not fight or argue with anyone. This is a discussion about Football. No politics or religion, although if you want to bring those up I could debate for days.

Christian Ponder - His first start of his very young NFL career cam ON THE ROAD against our biggest rival Green Bay Packers. I hate the word "almost", but he ALMOST won that game for us. No training camp, No OTAs, NO OFFSEASON other than a couple weeks at camp. He showed plenty of promise his first year. Let it be known his only legit receivers were a very young TE with no experience at the professional level Kyle Rudolph and young slot WR Percy Harvin.

Year 2 - Ponder takes the helm. 10-6 in year 2. I don't care what his numbers were, he was the QB of a team that went 10-6 and into the playoffs. He lost his star receiver for the last 3rd of the season....then went and won 4 straight getting the Vikes into the post-season. I'm not taking anything away from AP, but Ponder had some very intelligent plays. He had plenty of good throws and a couple GREAT throws. It was sad he couldn't play against Green Bay in the playoffs, but I did see the picture of the bruises on his elbow... safe to say none of you would have played either.

Year 3 - With the addition of Greg Jennings and C. Patterson, Ponder should improve. His teammates have always said he needs to work on his leadership skills. None of them or any coaches have said his arm is weak or that he can't make the necessary throws to be a pro. This will be his last year to prove himself. I think that Jennings will help the young WRs get better as well as help Ponder. I've heard many players, coaches, anyalsts, and reporters say that Jennings is a "pros pro". Patterson looks dynamic and Rudolph is ready for another Pro Bowl year. Jarius will be good in the slot, and dont forget about AP.

Add on the fact our great O-line will be back and it sounds like a dangerous offense.

SKOL!

Ponder has all he needs to be great. Lets see if it happens.
