Heck with OTA's, we need to get our three #1's signed.

A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

I dont know if you guys have been looking at some of the recent videos lately but Ponder has improved. I see he has more zip in his passes now. And the long pass he threw to Simpson was money!

Re: 2013 OTA/Offseason Schedule
Yes, that was my point. This year's WR corps runs better than last year's did. Jennings is great at getting YAC, Simpson is healthy, Wright can fly, and Patterson is dangerous after the catch.mondry wrote: While that's true about Percy I think where we will see an increase of Yac is in the intermediate portion of the field. Jennings is known for catching 10-15 yard passes and running 25+ with them and I think what losperros is getting at is that many of our receivers are capable of that as opposed to Jenkins who wasn't going to get really any YAC. Aromashadou was fast but not really a YAC guy and a hobbled simpson just didn't have the top line speed / separation for YAC and might this year.
That said, I think DP might be right in the frequency of short throws looking for YAC going down. Hopefully, the Vikings are capable of utilizing a wider variety of passes all over the field this year. I hope that also translates to bigger plays through the air so that all the weight isn't on AD again.

I'll use this thread for OTA notes and such if the OP doesn't mind.

Tom Pelissero on TwitterWhoa. Greg Childs just jogged out with a helmet. Not sure how much he'll do 10 months removed from double patellar tendon year. #Vikings

John Sullivan just arrived on the field too. So as reported yesterday everyone except Jared Allen is present. Impressive. #Vikings
Adrian Peterson is participating in team drills about four months after sports hernia surgery. Peterson carrying the ball on 9 on 7 too. No pads, no live contact in OTAs but appears he's full go in this setting. #Vikings
Cook and Robinson continuing to work as base corners. In nickel it is Cook and Rhodes outside, Robinson in slot, as expected. #Vikings
--Unfortunate and odd. I've really liked his ability (when he's healthy). Seems like he'd be the best of the reserves. Something to watch.DeMarcus Love working with third string at left tackle. Another sign he's down to his last shot here. #Vikings

Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero now
Fred Evans, not Letroy Guion, has started both team periods at nose tackle. Hmm ...

He was moving around earlier during the team workouts a couple of weeks back. No surprise here. Lets see what he can do in full pads come training camp.dead_poet wrote:I'll use this thread for OTA notes and such if the OP doesn't mind.

I dont like the idea of working Robinson on the outside. If anything Rhodes should be getting the outside reps, not just in the nickel formation.

FYI: he didn't do much of anything. Came out then went to do more rehab. Nothing too surprising.JEC334 wrote: He was moving around earlier during the team workouts a couple of weeks back. No surprise here. Lets see what he can do in full pads come training camp.

Tom Pelissero on TwitterAdrian Peterson says he feels close to 100%. Took about six weeks to lift after surgery. Lifting as much as before? "More." #Vikings
