Re: ** Official 2013 Draft Thread **
SI has us at players #5, 14, and 17.
Mayocks #2, 20, and 30.
Bleacher Report #4, 6, and 30.
CBS Sports #3, 11, 16.
Wow. That's some pretty good prospects.
I'm going to a play tomorrow night, so we may as well not have any picks.

Man I want Arthur Brown now. If he slips to late 2nd/early 3rd, I wonder what it'd take for the Vikes to go get him.

Re: ** Official 2013 Draft Thread **
you guys remember when the Vikes gave up a 3rd rounder to the Pats for Moss, right???
Do the Pats ever make a bad trade??? Doesn't that make anyone nervous?

Nope. Pats made out nicely...They're also constructed differently. Vikings are trying to get where they are. Not nervous at all. Vikings are doing what they need to do to win.VikingPaul73 wrote:you guys remember when the Vikes gave up a 3rd rounder to the Pats for Moss, right???

Massive case of over thinking it. Deep draft with talent to be found later and Trader Rick dumps a 2, a 3, and a 4 on a project with only one year of big time football experience. He earned the right with his 2012 draft. And the player may pan out, but many first rounders don't. And this kills the any shot at the depth necessary to build a champion over time with long view drafting. So I view the NE trade as an epic fail, David feeding Goliath. Sigh.

Hope we are both WRONG.

And Patterson may be raw, but he is very explosive. You can't teach that. Of course he's raw, he's only played one year of D-1 football.
He will contribute immediately on returns and on offense, the route running and refinement will come.
And we need to stop saying "4 picks is too much", the 7th round pick we included is borderline useless.
Re: ** Official 2013 Draft Thread **
According to "The" trade chart, it's just enough to get the first pick in the 4th round.Demi wrote: Offer them all to get as far up as we can for a MLB.

3 late 1st round salaries are very reasonable with the new CBA.OJVIKE wrote:we gave up to much....patterson is good....not 4 pics worth..imo....rhodes,patterson,then floyd in the 2cd round...i think he still would have been there...or someone compatible...now we have to pay 3 1st round salary's...boy thats laying it all on the line to win now...patterson and floyd...both have off feild isssues.....
And since when has Floyd had off the field issues? Are you just making those up now?

"Raw", "explosive", needs to improve "route running" and needs "refinement"....Very Very nice description of Troy WilliamsonDeadpool wrote: Overreaction much?
