Scheme-specific. Not a fit for 3-4 according to experts. 4-3 teams had other needs. Let's just look at it that way.VikingPaul73 wrote:Love it, but in the back of my mind still wondering why he dropped so far!!!!???

Oh boy, let's hope we got the big steal everyone says we did.
Nice. Perhaps that's why the Vikes turned their pick in almost immediately.

Wow! Floyd at #23? You've got to be kidding. He was the top-rated DT as far as I was concerned and I figured there was no way he'd be there for the Vikes. Kid is really young too, so still has upside.

Rotoworld's blurb:
Sharrif Floyd - DL - Vikings
Vikings selected Florida DT Sharrif Floyd with the No. 23 overall pick.
Commonly mocked to the Raiders at No. 3 overall, Floyd suffered the biggest free fall of the night. A 6-foot-2 5/8, 297 classic three-technique interior rusher, Floyd finished his three-year Gators career with 26 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three field goal blocks, and one forced fumble across 26 starts. Floyd ran 4.92 at the Combine with a 1.68 ten-yard split and 30-inch vertical. Deemed "without question" this draft's No. 1 player on tape by NFL Films guru Greg Cosell, Floyd is an up-field penetrator in the mold of Warren Sapp. He'll be a threat for 6-8 sacks as a rookie while serving as 32-year-old Kevin Williams' eventual successor.

Vikings select... CB Xavier Rhodes. Guess Spielman had no woodie for Te'o or they tied him up... ![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Nice. I didn't want Te'o. Good with Rhodes, but kinda wanted a WR

Rhodes it is.
Needed a corner. Let's hope he's a stud.
We'll need some ammo to bump up to grab a receiver.
