It doesn't even really matter anymore since the deal is already done. The media just want to have something to debate about before the draft begins. I would not be surprised if the Vikings actually pursued Wallace. Look how they wheeled Jennings in. We were desperate at WR, especially after the lost of Harvin.
And this could be more about Wallace, "Not being about the money," and playing for the game. Rather than it be about him turning down the Vikings. The Vikings and Dolphins were not the only teams pursuing him.
Vikings offered Wallace more money than Miami?

So, are you saying that after further research you found that Mike Wallace's father did NOT say the Vikings offered his son more money?GBFavreFan wrote:Last I checked Mike Wallace's father didn't call every person in America to personally tell them this news. he was interviewed by a media figure and the media wrote stories based on this interview and the media made this a national news story. While many credible media outlets discredited this headline as highly suspect, the headline of "Vikings offered Wallace more money than Miami" was circulated and digested by more people than those that investigated further to see the truth.

So glad you were there to explain it to us all.GBFavreFan wrote: I'll add you to the list of people who still don't understand how the media works and move on ...

WOW, Mike Wallace took less money to play for the dolphins? "He is my favorite player" says a dolphin fan. "Overypay? We got him for less than what he could of made elsewhere because we are Miami and we are awesome" says the guy who needs reaffirmation.
sounds like Mike Wallace's dad just took his son and changed him from being an overpriced, mediocre reciever who got crazy money because of his age and the lack of talent in free agency pool, and made him into a saint. Pretty good p.r. move.
I do not believe it for a minute. Glad we got what we did!
